Its been like what? 7-9 years since my first launch into VOID. I made some really nice friends here, i remember every single one of the people i played with and spent numerous hours flying around, exploring, fighting and chatting. It looks like the VOID is put in my blood. And now it is like 5 years we havent played. I have Nostalgia. Nostalgia for the community that used to be here, for the activity and interest. But i just feel sad that game got old and we grew up sooo quickly... I miss the good old days! Hope someone is reading this afterall and in the deepest part of their heart feels the same as i do. We have to thank ourselves of being the part of the whole project called the Void. It wouldnt be possible without Strail and the team nor without us - the ones who played and enjoyed. After i grew up i think sometimes about the causes that made the unavoidable finish, was it unavoidable i ask? Probably. But the best memories and fun times come up when there were some story behind all of this. Every protagonist has to have a strong antagonist for the story to be interesting. The old guys will know what i am talking about, the admin team will probably remember too and i am not sure whether they would do the same if time was turned back, maybe it was a needed decision. I was there and i know when everything started going more and more inactive and stalled. The notorious antagonists DTA and XEF created some kind of a legend, i remember the first day on VOid I already knew they were "bad" and i am going to get killed on sight. that what made us little ones to group up and seek for help it made us protagonists to create a way to fightwith the "evil" and then it was fun. evading, working as a team and so on, you had to have friends - interaction and so on. The House system blockade was something i will remember in online gaming for years, something soo big and powerful, not in the sense of arguing with the server staff, but more like a real event and war in a society, which made 2 factions for some time - and it was fun, it should've went on - it was a PC game with simulation of real life society mechanisms. Good old days. All those events and fights and striving to be one of the best, to be friendly at some times just to have a nice action with another person behind the screen miles away from you.
the other day i watched almost all vids on youtube about VOID and saw so many known "faces" It was a good ride mates - aalways in the memory of Nomadd!

I miss the pvp. Fighting on Void was different to other mods, I find pvp on Discovery bland.

And trust me, if you played here even longer there is even more to remember. For me, of course, the first time the SAINT clan hit void is something I will always remember. Nobody knew us, nobody knew who was behind the tags and names...
but we blockaded the then-popular sparta system completely, leaving only havock, despite being heavily outnumbered.
And the XEF Saint war, which -in puplic- was fought as harsh as possible and in the background was orchestrated by both clan leaders to keep a sense of conflict in the void world.
One issue perhaps...there were times when (almost) everybody with at least a part of PVP skill decided to play "evil"...and that (IMHO) was a moment when things bored a bit down.
But that's past now...
About what has happend...well, look how old the game is. It's a testament to the game (and to the excellent mods like VOID) that it is still active at all. However, chances are very minimal that new players hit the game. And old ones move away, for various reasons, so the player base gets smaller and smaller.
For example, me as "old fart" I played a lot and got some fame I think...but then things in my life changed. I had some health issues, life moved on, job change, family changed and there was simply less and less time for leisure activities. I tried to play again some years ago...but discovered that -honestly- my skills where only a shadow of my former performance and (even worse) no matter what I'll do I'll never again get even close to the level I was before my sickness. For me, that was really the moment I decided to finally retire in this game.
Cheers
Becker

I often wonder to myself how I'd fare in pvp on Void now vs how I did in the past. I think I've improved a great deal.

If you are going to go for a PC specifically for SC, then I suggest you wait as long as possible. I can run it on mine, but content that is out so far is just for bug testing, you can't really enjoy it much(except of course when you run it for the first time and get all them nerdgasms).
Also, general optimization hasn't been done yet since they keep adding new content and it wouldn't do much difference.
So due to gameplay currently available and no game polishing the best thing is to sit back and wait a bit more, I expect for the game to actually start being a game around this December or February next year...hopefully.
