there seems to be a out break of players again trying to swap engines on ships. i.e. putting a nomad engine on a heavy fighter like an anubis mk2.

this is to let you all know this is not allowed !

there are serveral reasons for this number one being that it causes trouble for the server.

concider this your warning, if you are caught trying to run the wrong engine you will be given a nice 7 day holliday to think about the errors of your ways. strail has made post about this in the past. those who have been caught once doing this and have been warned will not be warned again, ok. also you are going to be watched for such offences for some time to come.

so please just fly the engine that comes with your ship, none of us take joy in banning players.

play and have fun!

I have seen and talked to over 10 players doing this in the last week. 3 Players this very morning. All these players have changed it back after I asked them. I guess they can consider them selfs lucky.
I know of a few other players still using the wrong engine. You would do good changing it now.

Players caught by [FAQ]-MAVERICK- using a wrong engine will from now on be reported to a [VOID] or [ADMIN] without further notice.

A little tip: After several attempts with different players, I think the best way to change your engine back is to go and buy the ship that your engine belongs to, then buy your previous ship back.
So for instance a player flying an Anubis MK2 with a Robot Light Fighter engine (popular combi) should first buy the Discoverer, which is the Robot Light Fighter, and then buy the Anubis again.

If the above doesn't work for you, ask a [FAQ], otherwise deletion of the character is the only way out for you.

All other methods will result in nothing but a boot from the server by FLAC.

Well then i will do this as soon as i can. Also to Strail:

Remove all sellable engines from bases.I saw that there is a sellable one in new york.

So if engine is included into the mod players will love to buy it.Which is against the server rules.

If it is a part of mod players think it is legal (i did the same).

well they should read rules before they start and see what is legal there and also maybe they were intended to be allowed to change at first but didnt work out and unbalanced the ships or something. Its easyeir to just tell peeps to take them off than to remove them from mod i would say.

@ OuterStar - surely you dont need to be spoon fed this? Strail is not a freeking octopus and has more pressing things to change on the mod than this! We rely on players common sense where these rules are in place, although that leaves a lot to be desired sometimes!

I see you with another engine that should not be on your vessel and you are banned mate - make sure you tell the rest of SEF this also.  You have been here long enough to know FULL WELL that this is not permitted.  It is a "glitch" caused by several things during the changes that have occured here.  It was decided that the practice of engine swapping was NOT permissable.

To the rest:  Like the FAQ man said - Read the Rules! Ignorance is no excuse. To the noobs - one warning and then the Stick is in Effect...!   Whilst there may be no overt advantage in certain circumstances there are several "swaps" that cause bigger vessels to be as agile as the smaller vessels.   Dont Do It - Simple as that.

[edit] PS - to the FAQs team - I want a list of persistant offenders in this area - tell em once - they fail to comply let me, Eagleone or any of the other VOIDS know.  Initial seven day ban - if it reoccurs, then the ban time will increase proportionaly.... You Are Being Watched and You Cant Say You Were Not Warned.

My arguement of this is...
what if your ship don't come with an engine such as Wa1 & Viper?
can we buy the one off of planet manhattan or get one from a different ship?

Ok you dont have to be very bright to play here .... sorry if this is sounding a little "off" - but: WA1 and Viper fly dont they? They have engines even though you cant "see" them - this is due to an update "glitch" - one of many.  Rule is this - DONT fit an engine to your ship - the engines are not for changing or fitting - it makes it clear during the phase where you attempt to do so - there is a messages that says "You cannot change your engine" - even if you can its SAYING that you shouldnt - so - Tornado - get it sorted or get banned  - your choice.  Geeeez....!  C'mon its difficult enought trying to find people that hack  - dont start exploiting the glitches here - y'all tried it with the trade glitches - dont make me start banning people.

Get your ships in order or start getting banned - its that simple. There is no "argument" - fix it or else.

I'm on Void for more then 1 year already, I never read rules, I don't like to be bothered with it. Although I'm not stupid to try to say bad words in system chat. I'm not stupid to insult anyone.
My rules are:
1. HAVE FUN
2. HAVE FUN
3. Respect others
4. Play RP

If every of us follow these 4 rules, there will be no bans. However, I also had engine on my WA1 from NY till somebody said to me that I can get banned. I think that on FLU(Freelancer Universe) you can get any engine you want to. That's why I thought it's ok here.

@Eagleone: Not everyone read forums. That sucks but it's a fact. I agree with you 90%. These 10% goes to warning players in game. Every player should receive 1 warning in game. If he's seen again doing it he gets whatever he gets(BAN mwuahahahaha)...

Players should know the rules and if they break them they know the consequences and if you don't know the rules GO READ THEM..

And if it's not written in the rules, use your common sense, and ask yourself if it is 'Fair-Play' what you're doing. Nothing difficult about it really.

Skeleton u said thats ur 4 rules and that if everyone followed them there would be no bans. WRONG, sry to inform u but u better go read the rules after your year here... Theres a short list of do and donts and none of them are what u added to u.

if you fail to find them feel free to ask a member of the [Admin] [Void] [FAQ] or [Event] teams, we all know where they are...
