btw where can you get a horus? is is that one of those "NPC only"
like the highbred?
The Horus was available to players in recent mods, but it was considered unbalanced and has become unavailable to players in this mod.

Yes but its NPC only now.
My 2 cents for newbies(no offence) to pvp.
1. Avoid using guns with too different refire rates such as 2.0 and 8.33.
Its nearly impossible to use them while shooting with all guns.(Just personal expierence)
2. Try out Weapon Grouping(mouse with side buttons strongly recommended).
Its very helpful in case that you have fast flying shield killers(Screamers) and any hull guns.
You assign Screamers to group one and all hull(they better be all same guns) - to group two.Group selecting buttons must be in close and comfortable place for fingers(thats where you will need side buttons on mouse - even the ones that change volume would help in our case).
When you start an fight, you take enemy's shield down, turn on the 2nd group, and take his hull down.
The pro's and con's of this way - you dont consume much energy on useless shots(screamers have not so much hull damage),so you can shoot more - means you can kill enemy faster. Also this way you can use different projectile speed guns because of this:
Quote:
1. it just shows the "aiming point" for your fastest projectile speed weapon. For example if you have a screamer (1k speed) and a nomad VHF turret(500 or so) and you aim at the cross while the enemy goes straight.. well most likely the screamer will hit, but the nomad gun will miss. So, if you want to archive a great number of hits per salvo try to use weapons of the same speed. SIDE NOTE: if you have weps with many different speeds you will create a shotgun like spread, which might come in handy now and then too.
See that little + that helps u aim?
Ignore it
UNLESS
That little + is tuned to one set of your guns. And some guns are faster or slower than others. So unless your guns are all the same speed it may be time to using instinct and that little thing as a guide only.
In my case:
I flew with a very diverse set of guns but they all had a speed match so I used that to get to grips with my firing. I was more of a torp user than much else but those secrets I aint spilling.
Something I must say though is STRAFE. Dont fly straight. And be un-predicatble. Try to remain somewhat loose and watch what your opponent does.dont strafe the same way everytime and dont always do the same thing.
Use that Thruster! its what it is there for. The faster you hit your opponent the harder u hit them.
A little advice for Missile or Torp users.
The best defence against these is CD's (cruise Disruptors) now the way these work is as follows:
It locks onto the player and is extremly fast. High manuverably almost always garentees a hit. So with this said watch when they fire them. The other thing is it explodes when it comes close to something (torp missile etc) so if you fire a torp and move off there is a good chance your missile will be completly un-hampered on it journey.
So:
Fire your torp or missile and Start to strake and fire. Thats the best Advice I can give to users. The other thing is you are going to lose alot when u start.
Pvp uses alot of head on Runs. So watch how your opponent reacts to these. Try force him into a Straight line. Use your Engine kill and go further back and wait for him to be going what I called "deadline" which means he flies straight at you to try catch you. Unload and hit Thruster and go toward him but DO change direction slightlyy
Other than that it takes experience. Good luck

A few things, i'm sure they've probably been mentioned before:
Never engine kill too long. The longer you drift in the negative speeds, the more vulrnerable you are to being fired upon by an opponent turning faster than you. I'm sure this is much more the case if you are pvp'ing a WA1 or an eagle if your in a slower turning ship. You shouldn't really need to drift into negatives especially if you are brawling.
Carefully timing the thrusters as well can provide you with a good boost to counter your position. Minute taps of the thruster can help you edge round during dogfights, giving you the aim where others can't.
When at close range and circling opponents, try and swing missiles off of your wings, as well as just firing them straight at your opponents. If you predict the right angles, you can take advantage of the momentum gained and take out opponents without even seeing them. Undercutting opponents angles with torps can also aid this position.

and when you have a dual torp ship , anubis mk2, gladiator, etc. dont use 2 of one type of torp, use 1 sunslayer and 1 starkiller, this lets you fire 240 torpedoes instead of just 120
