Y'know, there used to be something like this done regularly quite a while ago.
Participants could only submit their own work, and entries would be PMed to whoever was running the competition over a period of about a week or so, then they'd all be displayed simultaneously in a single thread where people could vote.

I'm sure it wouldn't take much to get it all started up again, if enough people are interested.

the sig comps were good fun,
they helped to improve my photoshop skills a lot,
so much so i now make some money from it

we should def start them again
