fe9e:24a1 whatever that means. It is listed as this under both Lan and Internet. In a fluke i am sure, the IP showed up under Lan as my local ip and i was able to connect but i don't think i changed anything. I have registered my server and it is visable on the website so i am really at a loss. I disabled the windows firewall and even uninstalled norton completely. Any ideas?!?! >:P :-wA New Problem

A New Problem
>:P Today i installed an upgraded motherboard and Ram into my computer, this is where i am getting the parts to build my Dedicated server. Anyways, i reinstalled windows XP, reinstalled freelancer and began hosting the server on my upgraded machine. (From and AMD XP 2200+ to a 3000+ and from 512 ram to 1gb soon to be 2.) Basically the motherboards are the same with the exception to the upgradeable. Well, the problem i am running into now is, when i try to connect to the server that is being hosted on the same machine it will not connect and the IP is listed as fe80:219

P.S. i unplugged my modem today and it appears that i do not have a static IP so i may have to looking getting one. There for my server's IP has changed. The name is the same if you would like to play on it

The v6 is a 128 bit protocol instead of your regular 32 bit v4.
It uses hexidecimal while the v4 uses a decimal system. That means it uses Numbers: 0-9 and Letters: A B C D E F.
All the v6 basically does is that it allows you more connections.

That gave me an idea, i just uninstalled the V6 and is solved the problem. Thanks Ripper for the idea though. I guess the V6 was taking over for the applying of the IP address and i guess that one time i got on, was when it reverted back to the old TCP/IP setting. But all is well now. Thanks

If you are hosting the server on the same machine as you are playing Freelancer on you can also connect by using 127.0.0.1. This a loopback IP that you use to test NICs. I have also used it to connect to myself when playing with the server hosting software.
