I prefer the top to the bottom, but both look great.  The framing of the text reminds me of the Freelancer logo.

Too be honest the bottom one looks better you should use that one

and yes scythe made one like that a few week back correct?

well, i didn't copied it from the one scythe made :P
i had made one like that years ago, but lost that one so i wanted to try it out again (made the one years ago based on a tut i found hanging on the web :) )

im sure anything that is done nowadays has been done many many many years ago .....

stiil good to see different sigs in different ways than the plain old box.....
