Depends how you mean don't effect you.

Missiles start to get affected by lag at around 65 ping, at around 90 you have probably a 1 second missile lag, and at 140 ping, you wont be able to do anything.

But as far as lagging goes, if i ever see that i start lagging, ill check it using these steps:

1. Check all computers are running clean, no downloads or spyware.
2. Check my computer connection (i run on a home plug ethernet adaptor, sometimes just needs to be played with)
3. Check my router, no problem with my current router from o2, but my old BT home hub i had to reset it twice a day, my connection almost halved in around 3 days.

if these three tests fail, normally i blame it on the server, or i log off for the night depending on how much im actually lagging. (anything over 100 i go bye bye)

But i do agree, the server is lagging a little bit more than it used to...
