I had a simlar issue to deal with you can read about it here:

Only difference is that i was not even able to see the Void server listed in the online servers. (problem solved after uninstalling my personal firewall Sygate)

You might want to get in touch with someone more IT minded before you mess up your computer by changing any Settings
WHat you could also try is activating the mod with the 1.4 version of the mod manager wich you can get here:
http://www.voidserver.com/modules.php?n ... c&p=184495

Maybe the server doesn't recognize the mod and it ejects you explaining the red lag after launch
SO uninstall the current mod manager 1.3 and try it with the 1.4 beta

Sometimes things seem to sort themselfs out just like that. Therefore, try a complete re-install.

- deactivate the mod,
- uninstall the mod
- uninstall FLMM
- uninstall Freelancer
- reboot your puter

- install Freelancer
- install FLMM (might use FLMM v1.4, available here (don't forget to run FLMM as admin mode)
- install the 2115AUG2008v4 mod
- install the Global Server Workaround
- install the patch
- reboot once more

After that, make sure you make an exception in your firewall for Freelancer and related programs. AVG shouldn't cause any problems.

Lot of work, I know, but who knows it's worth the effort.

i would suggest uninstalling the firewall as this solves pretty much of the issues...and u should also run FL as an admin...i dont like vista and ive worked with it...so i know it from experience...

and yes...i have a bit of computer knowledge as my favorite things is 2 mess them up and fix it after XD

btw...any1 got XP SP 3 working PROPERLY?? maybe its buggy since i have pirated windows (i dont like MS )

I have it working fine m8. But I read some forums about it. And it's known to cause problems like crashes even. You need another patcher in order to use 3rd party skins. And you can't uninstall SP3 either lol...

Finally y sayd yr a router user!Mine is a 56Mb/s router,and y 'lhave the surprise sometimes,net speed slow down 14Mb/s to 800kilo/s!
If yr AVG founded some troyans or Warms,restart or even reinstal yr router.I have in use AVG antivir+antispam&&&... with no firewall(i use the XP one.
If y have in use AVG internet security with firewall, watch out! Set the firewall to Gamming Mode! It's easy and efficient.

You could completely remove your firewall by going Control Panel - Add Remove Programs, but I advise reinstalling another one ASAP.

This ones a toughy! Finally stumped the geniuses of the Void... Congratulations buddy  :D
