MARAUDERS classes

Post by die_volker »

This is a list of marauder classes that you will encounter in space
We have decided to share this with all freelancers so they have a better understanding of our society.

class EXPLORER
Marauders-[NAME]
Role-play
Knowledge of the surroundings is one of the most precious weapons in warfare.
This is the primary character for a marauder, used to explore the space and gather info about all that is to know about.
Marauders often exit from the explore mode to wage war, and they are not afraid to expose their explore-ships to those endeavors.
Specs
Usually a very heavy fighter equipped to face rough environments and constant NPC encounters.
Example: Anubis MK2, Gladiator... good stock of N/B, large ship hull and a lot of firepower.

class TRANSPORTER
Marauders-[Trader_NAME/NUMBER] / Marauders-[T]-NAME/NUMBER
Role-play
Warfare and explorations take a lot of resources, so as almost everybody does, Marauders often mingle within the civilians and established companies, making use of freighters to gain the most wanted resources for financing their enterprises.
Marauders like to do things without being noticed, and as soon as they feel independent enough from the trade routes from the house systems, they take their business as far as possible from curious eyes of other freelancers.
Specs
Is the largest freighter that brings more monney home, but always the one that catches the Rogue's attention.
Example: AT (armored transport)...fit to dock everywhere and has a well built hull.

class MERCHANT
Marauders-[Merchant_NAME/NUMBER] / Marauders-[M]-NAME/NUMBER
Role-play
Despite the common understanding and the name they are bearing, this is one of the most versatile class in marauder's hierarchy.
Using it in time of stability and peace as storage, many find that commerce with weapons can bring a good amount of money to ones treasury.
At times of need the cargo is dropped and those ships can engage a foe...and by God, they can fight... Is not a loved activity but it pays.
Specs
The more protection you get, more safer are your stocks.
And to be able to do that and fit the roleplay, use a Battle-station.

class SEEKER
Marauders-[Seeker_NAME/NUMBER] / Marauders-[S]-NAME/NUMBER
Role-play
Seekers are a special breed in marauder society, and they are the diplomatic link with the "underworld".
Marauders use them for scavenging, buying weapons from outlaws and engaging other freelancers in battle.
Experimenting new weapons and different ships is common for the Seekers as a practice to gain PVP experience and perfecting a style or stealing one and using it.
Specs
A quick VHF is the real deadly tool; equipped with suitable weaponsps and gadgets to fit your fighter skills.
Example: Colonial Viper or WA1 with sniper setup (use some missiles too)

class ASSISTANT
Marauders-[Assistant_NAME/NUMBER] / Marauders-[A]-NAME/NUMBER
Roleplay
It comes a time when an ally or friend needs help, or a new recruit must be escorted to another system.
Some of the Marauders keep docked or hidden in strategic placed locations heavy fighters capable to assist anyone that needs help.
This is a good ship for PVP as well as for hunting down NPS's.
Specs
This is entirely your choice. The VHF ships will be the optimal choice.
You need as much fire power and protection to cover for somebody.

Thank you for sharing all this information about your clan.
Sadly i don't see many Marauders flying "out there" but that's not your fault as it is currently very hard to establish a strong and numerous clan on the Void given the fact that the [R] tag has already done it's damage and crippled this server to it's almost extinction. =D>
Some very good examples for this would be the failed establishments of the Keepers and CRO clan

thank you for the good words
This project is still in its infancy and with all the VOID's dynamics, as Burn said, it gets harder and harder to find new recruits.
My hope is for this project to have success before Freelancer will be forgotten :)...just kidding :P

Volker m8, don't let people make you believe nonsense m8. The [R] is not in any way responsible for the things Burn wants you to believe. It's just that he has some personal issues with the R tag and decided to blame everything bad on it.
Burn wrote:...the [R] tag has already done it's damage and crippled this server to it's almost extinction.
Hey Burn m8, did you ask yourself how this piece of text would look to new forum visitors? It scares new people off m8. Your feelings regarding the R tag are your business, but you should watch yourself and be careful you don't cause the very same thing you blame the [R] tag of. This is going a bit too far m8.

*Cough*[R] Tag is not the root cause of all evil*Cough*

Sure it has caused problems,affected piracy but not everything.KOD failed because of lack of persistence from its leader.

@Die_Volker-U will do well mate,i like ur forum for Marauders. =D>

Well done, that's a very impressive homepage! And the amount of "fresh" RP chars you've got there is impressive too :) It's a shame you guys don't recruit pirates though, I'd give joining you some serious thought otherwise. See you out in the black, and good luck with your clan, I hope to see it grow!

(This doesn't mean I'll hesitate to go after your traders, though - on the contrary ;) )

The clan is growing day by day , and we have many interested faces coming around everytime more often!
Im proud to say im part of this , and the organization is good , experienced like non experienced players are welcome to be tought the high art of Mauraders Fighting :P

I see not alot of players have a clan , almost 70-80% seems to be pirates or rouges , so well ,there is a big fighting for positions , systems , bases , ports & etc , but few for few i can see people will be coming to clans , to not be alone when The Mauraders rush theyr pvp system ;)

Thanks for all the good feedback!
