I humbly present:


A Voidian Christmas


‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the Void
Not a pirate was stirring, no traders employed.
The Navies stood guard through the systems with care
Making sure there were no Rogues prowling there.

And Strail was nestled all snug in his bed
With visions of mods dancing ‘round in his head.
Strapped in my Dub-A-1 ready to roll,
I’d just settled in for a routine patrol.

When over in Sparta there rose such a clatter,
I headed that way to see what was the matter.
Away to the jump gate I flew like a torp,
My cruise engine burning at maximum warp.

The shield 'round the City, its violet glow
Gave the luster of lasers to the rocks below.
When, what to my widening eyes should appear
But a menacing ship, eight escorts to his rear.

With a mean-looking driver, he flew it so quick
He had to be cheating with some hacking trick!
And each in his fighter, his escorts they came
While over the Teamspeak he called them by name:

"Yo, Crusher! Anubis! Conq! Hammerhead! an'
Punisher! Screamer! Fear! Armageddon!
Take your positions and stay in formation!
Stay sharp! Cover me, I'm goin' in!"

As ship debris after a PvP flies,
When you hit that perfect shot right 'tween the eyes,
So all 'round the system, his escorts they flew
Their ships bristling with cannons and missiles too.

Then, in a twinkling he crashed through the dock
As I watched him from where I hid under Saint Rock.
I followed him through, landed, and looked around
When into the hangar he came with a bound.

He was dressed in the finest of leather jumpsuits
Trimmed all in silver, and shiny black boots.
A bundle of weapons was slung on his back,
He looked like a smuggler just opening his pack.

His eyes were mysterious and I could not
Read his expression cuz they were bloodshot.
A gold tooth glittered as he sported a grin
And about a week's stubble covered his chin.

He lit up a pipe with a torch that was frightful,
Whate'er he was smokin', it sure smelled delightful!
His chiseled face was both pleasant and rough,
His lean body said he knew how to be tough.

He stood tall, almost cocky, a confident man
And I knew right away he was head of his clan.
He looked at me hard as he turned his head
Then he winked, and I knew I had nothing to dread.

I couldn't hear what he said as he moved his lips,
But suddenly, all ‘round were sparkling new ships!
Then he carefully mounted new weps on each one,
Just right for each player to have the most fun.

Then he sprang to his ship, gave his escorts a whistle,
And away they all flew like a hot CD missile.
And I heard him exclaim as he cruised out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Good Fight!"
