Any I.S.B caught in joining  this strike will be ejected and any caught cheating will be ejected. I do not allow strikes on cheating when in my veiw it is the least of this servers problems lately. Forum flaming and Missile spamming are mad but hey they happen. We have well armed admins and voids to deal with these matters and they can deal with them with the support of pms from the community.

We do not need strikes, we being I.S.B will take everyone on and if we suspect we will pm any member that says otherwise ill be happy to show the door. u go around acusing players and when u learn ur wrong u get offended. wise up and get on with the game.

This is neither a flame reply so dont make it 1.

Hmmmmmmmm....I'm totally against cheating but I dont really get what you are tryin to do and in what way you are doing it.

If it is players fiddling with files, then isnt this just about impossible to stop.  Having genuine proof against another player is tough aswell.  I have been called a cheat loads of times when I've beaten somebody better than me etc etc, but I wouldnt know the first thing about altering files or whatever it is that can be done.

And how are you striking?  By being ingame but not doing anything.ie fighting, pvping, red dotting refusing to move?  Seems alot of players manage that in anyway but its usually in Sparta.

Look I aint tryin to knock this attempt, but I cant see how this will work better than just saying to Strail about your concerns and letting the big guy get on with it, if he wishes.  He isnt daft and has prob looked at ways in which this can be solved already.

Just play the game, and if suspect somebody is cheating then try and get proof, solid proof, then report it and dont pvp or go near that player again.

Again, I hate cheaters with a passion but this just doesnt cut it for me I'm afraid.

What if some of them (cheaters, or whatever you call them) sign here? Do you (or anyone else) know who are that people? If not... well Greaver already told you.

I definitely see the point of a strike like this.  Almost everyone's convinced that cheating's a problem, and that FLAC, the VOID team, and their fellow players haven't been successful in stopping it up to this point.  In theory, under a strike, all the players who aren't cheating can get together, and leave the cheaters alone to play alone.  In theory.

But on the flipside, it's possible that some people who sign up for this will actually be cheaters themselves, attempting to avoid suspicion.  And at some point, this strike is going to end, and anybody that decided to turn off their hacks during this period of clear opposition is just going to turn them back on once emotions are running a bit lower, and they think they can get away with it.  I'm not convinced that this is the end all be all way to get rid of the cheating problem.

Here's an idea I just thought of, which I'll leave for all of you to pick apart as you see fit.  What about a forum thread or something with guidelines on how to spot a cheater, and ways to get that concrete proof that they are?  I don't know...it's just a thought.

You know DeDa: you're right. And Greaver is as well. And Savage is too, and I can also see where Ghosty's coming from.

As players there's very little we can do. As Ghosty pointed out, this is a job for the admins of this server. We will have to try and provide them with as many clues and indications we can so they have as wide a basis as possible to work from. Although real hard proof is very hard - if not impossible - to get by. We like to trust the idea that the server staff is working their backsides off  to find out ways to act against cheating. Most of us don't have any doubt that they do. Because why would they let cheaters ruin their server?

But we might not always see the results of this in game. Although this is also relative. Because how can you tell who is cheating and who is not? When I'm having a good day I can defeat 3 or sometimes even more players before they kill me as I'm getting ganged. On other days I couldn't even hit a wall if I would be standing in front of it. On those good days I also get called a cheater at times. And this is where the danger lies.

Since the subject of cheating has been brought up, it has increased in 'popularity'. Players have gotten more wary about it. Which is good, but also has a downside. In some situations we might see cheaters when in fact there is nothing wrong. I reported a guy just very recently who seemed to be admitting to a popular form of cheating in public, but it turned out he wasn't doing anything wrong at all. A lot of players now owe this guy a very big apology for giving him grief over it in public. This is the downside. Thanks to our heightened awareness, we might be adding to the hostility and negative atmosphere ourselves too. And this can and will chase innocent players off the server just as bad as cheating itself.

Don't get me wrong here. I stand for this strike. The way I see it, it's nothing more than a public stand against cheating. And I can't see the harm in there, or I wouldn't have participated in it. There's not a good word to be said about cheating, and getting Navy and Evil players standing together and form a front, is showing that we care for this server and we would love to play in a friendly and cheat-free atmosphere. See it this way: if we wouldn't care for the Void, we would have simply taken off to another server.

Cheaters are in every game, and so they are here too. However we might have to watch ourselves. Public accusations of cheating has become common practice almost lately. And this aint helping the atmosphere either. We have to watch ourselves and eachother that we don't get to the point of not caring anymore. I know some of us here already are there. If we stopped caring, it will only get worse.
There's nothing more frustrating than to have to fight an opponent of whom you almost certainly know he is cheating. However, for us normal players, there's no way we can proof it. The Admins might have the tools for this though. So as hard as it can be - if we want to make the Void a little bit more friendly and the atmosphere a little bit more relaxed - we have to watch ourselves that we don't regress into accusations. We might do more damage than we might realize and achieve the exact opposite of what we want.
Next to cheating, gossip can be a real PITA. Imagine how it would be if you were the one to be accused for cheating whilst you are innocent...

Like I said above I don't see the harm in this and I won't be ejecting members from our clan for participating in it either. We're not really achieving anything with this strike? Perhaps you're right. We're not gonna attempt naming and shaming? No, that would only involve (wrong) accusations. Do we expect that the cheaters get so scared they all pack their belongings and get the hell off this server? Not at all. Maybe we're not achieving anything at all with this. But that's not the point.

The point is that we all stand together in this as Voidians. And show that we don't want our beloved server to be spoiled by people who can't cut it the right way. That we indeed care for the Void, and that we want this server to remain the great one it has always been.
It's a public statement. And that's what it should remain.

Scream on.

Naming people if not the way forward - this will just turn into an uber flame fest.

A better FLAC is maybe whats needed, or somesort of 3rd party thingy running on ur pc, I have read this version of flac, isnt finshed, and is far weaker than pervious versions.

And yes, it is down to admins in game to come and look when players ask........Now wheres an in game admin...... as there dont seem to be any, why not give the FAQ dudes the abilty to kick people, maybe not ban but atleast kick people, because from where im sitting thats the only VOID presence I ever see. And these people seem to have thier heads screwed on.

Yes people have lives, I understand that but in the last few months ive seen an admin maybe twice?
I mean just yesterday - Mr Blood lust - attempted cheat use - I swear I saw this 100+ times, over and over and over again, for about an hour and a half.....

We have ALL seen those SUPER fast ships, remember you calling me to Alexandria Destroyer? around demo, that guy was just blatent, must have been 15 of us from all clans and all sides watching him but no admins about, nothing could be done.

And ghost, wheres the harm in signing this? I dont see any, if anything it tells people reading this forum we are aware of you, we watch you, we dont stand passive about it.

Have a good day
