Nomad Lasers, Balanced or not?

I would say that the problem it's not the speed but the range and class! Make them like guardians with shorter range and lvl10 (thats how fast 1.00 guns should be anyway).

Only after that I can say they are balanced.

i dont know if its really fair to look at lasers in alot of the ways we do  too me its a flavor of the month    next month something else will annoy the general population  lets see    

the spartan  the crow  the eagle the ti crusher  the gladiator  for a little while the diemos cause alot of people were getting killed by them   thus they were the flavor of the month to hack on about

in the kinda role play i seek lasers are ok    so are cannonballs and sunslayers

want to complain about something thats really annoying          guys with ships who launch CD'S like this

nothing to care about shonen , i just notice how ESF is a strong enemy so that you change to lasers for fighting it while your intentions was to increase ur brawler side as you said on forums ... nothing to care bout , just was wondering about that

@ Zeus , i never seen a server having lasers ^^ , i see beams , and some resembles lasers but i didnt see those void laser 2 and 3 with this speed and damage stats.

Well one day after once again being missile spammed to a stop and unable to move my ship yet again, instead of moaning about it I thought how can I stop these people and return it without the horrid expense of 5+ missiles on my ship.

Bingo twin cd anubis! and I have it set up so each one fires on separate keys, meaning I can spam 1 cd per second from two launchers. It works. horibbly well too. I can return spam at the rate of 240 cds every 3  or 4 mins. Missile users just die by thier own hands, its particularly useful when surrounded by 4+ people spamming missiles at me. Thins the crowd down quite nicley.

Fight fire with fire
Fight spam with anti spam.

Though to be fair I dont use that ship in 1 v 1 or against enemies I know dont spam.

After reading this discussion (and never having used a laser to my knowledge) I don't see why lasers can't become class 10 and keep the speed, this would mean vipers and such can still use four of them.

    As for me I don't really pvp much unless I'm forced to >:D I like exploring trading and red-dotting the best personally, which means if you try to gank me while I'm flying here and there in my AroW with a full compliment of lasers (which after reading this discussion I am going to go find >: D ) and a couple of CDs in the CD/T slots you really shouldn't expect to be able to say after the fight "omg unbalance!"  (Assuming I win... I'm pretty nub still atm XD )

    With what I find fun, survivability for the win, I don't really go for kills, if lasers will get that annoying nomad out of my face a second faster I'll use em, if CDs will keep me from being missile spammed by a crazy gankster rogue I'll use em...(If a titanium hull upgrade will keep my sorry behind together ten seconds longer in a radioactive cloud...) You really shouldn't have to ask about the nomad minelayer and countermeasure

Lasers are class 9 m8, meaning they can be mounted on almost anything and in big numbers.
And I dont think there very good at killing Ncp nomads due to the fast rate of regen they have when almost dead

...which would be why I said I don't see a problem making them class 10 (sorry meant can't not can.)

    I'll keep experimenting to see what kills nomads the fastest, as long as I'm not trying to kill them with class 7 matters (arrrrggghhhhhhh!!!!!!)

I would like to point out that since i posted my argument against lasers not one single laser-supporter has been able to provide a legitimate counter argument other than "Lasers are fair and a unique gun on void". So i'll consider my argument won = ).

HC is my main server, PvP is FAR improved there thanks to the lack of CD spam. People who can't fly their ship spam CD's against people who've taken time to learn how to fly their ship. The argument that it is a fair tactic is purely false. Yes, they're part of the game. That does not mean they're a fair part of the game. Their use in pvp against guns only fighters is pathetic.

I was the only one with a small counter in the first post lol. But im brawling now for few weeks and its fun. Not being able to see the crosshair due all shots that your firing. Sound is awesome like Retribution said.
