Then I guess I was wrong and there's no point in trying to make ny rules. If people prefer to just fight it out fine with me but, that is not entertainment in my book.
Anyway, I see that probably people will not agree with what I have said or planned. I just think people should not say it does not work because many other servers work this way.

Re: Suggestions
Good grief, I wasn't trying to say it definitely wouldn't work, I was just giving scenarios that might cause problems. Assuming you're going to go ahead with this it's in your best interest to consider what you'd do about that kind of situation. I personally don't see a way around it, and that's why I bring it up- so someone else can take a stab at coming up with something.
Besides me you've got at least 2 people totally supporting the idea and about 4 offering similar ideas and suddenly you decide no-one's going to agree to it?

Re: Suggestions
The point is: everyone that has posted agreeing or saying something are not the people that would actually get involved in the fights. The answers have all been one sided have they not? I've just realized that the possibility of the IAF to make a post saying we'll attack somewhere with a certain rules, and the people that will oppose us agreeing to them is close to zero. I'm a little naive sometimes about some things. Someone just talked to me and made me realize this could never be done here on void in a practical way that everyone would agree. And it is true what Zeus said previously: it would be too planned. And, it would really only happen in scheduled attacks. In other fights all the time, nothing would change and the same whining would be going on and on and the same respawn wars as well.

Re: Suggestions
I'm in agreement with your initial suggestion Lili.
Perhaps you could have a seperate thread outlining your proposal of how you wish fights between clans/ territory wars to be fought and ask for other clan leaders to either say they agree or disagree so you know who'd be willing to fight under those terms. That way if a clan that you know isn't willing to fight that way jumps in on a war you are having and starts ruining it for both sides (like helping either side to kill their opponents even though they've been asked not to) then a cease fire agreement can be made to blow the stuffing out of the culprits until they get the picture.
As for Rogues or Pirates "seizing the opportunity" that would be fine and could actually add a dynamic to the fight, so long as they don't just go for the one clan and go "loco" on everybody there. Could perhaps be included into the terms.

Re: Suggestions
This is a traditional "problem" within the VOID. It is clearly a shooter server. Now you will hear a load of BS from certain corners of disaffected former players who feel that the introduction of RP at a limited level has "ruined" the server. Those who come from strict RP ruled servers sometimes find it a bit frustrating and puzzling as to why we behave the way we do. Well - its basicaly a Shooter Server - if it moves shoot at it.
As things stood originaly I believe there were only two things important - you were either a freelancer or you were a pirate (the introduction of the X tag). As things developed another "official" tag for Rogues (R tag) was developed due to the fact that some just liked to shoot at things and certain traders and freelancers were not overly happy that these characters did not come with some kind of warning. Over time many unofficial tags appeared. T = Trader. H = Hunter, and so on. Clans started to evolve from being just roving gangs of shooters into a slightly more sophisticated RP based idea. Pirate clans behaved as pirates should, others went for a more controvertial RP such as Eclipse (Nomads that shoot everything) Big arguments about R tags being in clans or not - eventualy being superceded by the "evil" clan RP. So we have an interesting situation where we are mainly a shooter server with a relatively simple level of RP involved. We wanted to avoid going down any strict line of RP as some other servers have done. You can clearly see from the posts how certain people feel about the apparent "over regulation" of fights and has been pointed out, its not that it wouldn't work its just getting people to accept the idea - which is why I suggested that you introduce your idea in the form of an event. Maybe rather than have a Ten Minute rule you have a "knock out" rule - if your killed - leave the system and wait on the other side - so that any VOIDS or EVENT team members can take a head count of the vanquished.
Just a thought and its not that your idea is not a good one - I'm just curious to see how others view it and to maybe (as they have done) point out some of the flaws and suggest other ways of doing it.
Thanks.

Re: Suggestions
One way of doing it, I've been involved in fights like this and they work, is that if you are planning an attack on, lets say, another clan, that you dock in either a nearby system or planet away from the actual fight. This way you can attack in waves, and thus not end up with a respawn war.

Re: Suggestions
i havnt really had time to read through everyones post however i just thought this up in 2 seconds flat rigth we know most clans on the has there own home system what if we go at the RP thing as if it were a real war my meaning being say we had 2 clans at war they could quite frankly take control of the other clans system if they are successful at winning the war i know we would have to set up some rules for this so that its not abused and clans dont claim they have won a Battle and taken control of the thers system when they havnt actually fought at all we could do like a battle of the line type thing on official person will watch and judge which clan wins and therfore takes control of the system there fighting over if im not mistaken Kosmiker has created a sort of territory map and that would come in handy if it were to show an upto date version of what clans own and defend which systems
EDIT: upon reading the rest of the posts ive just noticed were all on sort of the same page here

Re: Suggestions
I just want to say that I'm working on some ideas regarding the territory map and in a way of providing a balanced/enjoyable solution on how systems can be assigned for each clan.
And suggestions like the ones I've read here are highly appreciated.
