Alpha-Omega

Post by Alpha-Omega »

I am Alpha-Omega and this is my story.

The Origins of the Rogue Alpha-Omega

Sitting in the cockpit of my fighter with the glow from the instruments reflecting off my face as I reflect on my past I realize a few things. I am a killer without any trace of humanity left in my soul, if I even have a soul anymore. THEY took that from me so long ago I can barely remember. I think back to my childhood, if you can call it that. I didn’t have a mother and father in the traditional sense, nor aunts nor uncles, no pets, birthday parties, or friends.

Go back 28 years to a lab in one of the Omega systems. My mother, a renegade member of the Order, was captured by the Bounty Hunters guild. The Order wanted her back it seems along with what she had stolen. She discovered a plan by the order to use altered human DNA to create a new breed of Assassins. They combined human DNA with the DNA from the Nomads, Dom Kavash, and another unknown species. To her this was the ultimate in evil so she stole it with the intention of destroying it, but what the Order did after they captured her truly created the ultimate in evil. To punish her, they used her as a test tube to create their first assassin; me.

My mother died with my birth which was a kindness to her I think. I was raised to kill and somewhere along the line they burned out any capacity I had for love, compassion, remorse, regret, humanity, or honor. I lived to kill and had anger and hatred burning in my mind at all times, even my dreams were of death and violence and the sheer pleasure I took from killing. That was all they left me, hatred, a pure pleasure of killing and a small sense of self preservation. I wasn’t even able to truly feel fear.

Once I turned 20 they decided I was ready to be deployed as a weapon to do their work.  They forgot one thing though, a means to control me. My first kill was to rip the heart out of the technician sent to bring me to the hanger; I devoured it before his dying eyes. My second kill was snapping the spine of the ship master that ran the hanger. I killed everyone in that lab with my bare hands and gloried in each scream, every cry of pain, the death rattles of my prey’s last breath and the snapping sound their bones made as I broke them.

I stole a fighter and it felt like an extension of my mind as I flew it away from the lab, destroying any ship I came across and collecting whatever was left floating in space that I could use. At that time I had another name, what it was is not important, what is important is that they eventually recaptured me. I was sent to a mental facility for the criminally insane. They thought they could cure me, but you can’t fix something if it isn’t broken and there was nothing wrong with me.

Those noble and weak fools tried to treat me for my insanity, not realizing I was not insane. They told me how wrong it was to kill; I showed them how easy it was to do it. One of them tried to teach me from an ancient religion. The book he quoted from said that God referred to himself as the Alpha and the Omega, which meant the beginning and the end. I liked the concept of that, and when I escaped again I took that as my name.

As I went from system to system, I eventually wound up in Nomad space. I felt at home here, like I belonged. The Nomads of course attacked me as they do anyone they catch in their space. I killed or evaded as I needed to. Soon though they contacted me. They saw their own greatness in me, knew they were part of me also, and saw the hatred that burned in me. I became a kindred spirit to them, not one of them, but a cousin of sorts. They granted me free passage through their space and docking at their bases.

So know me, for I am truly Alpha-Omega, the beginning of your end if you cross my path. I will kill as I please, take what I want, and bow to no person, government, or any other authority. I have no family, no friends, no alliances and no care as to how many enemies I have. I live to kill or be killed. I may work with someone if it suits me, but I may also betray them just as quickly. I am pure evil, neither human nor alien but something in between, something far greater than either alone. If you see me run if you want to live, if you see me and live, count your blessings.
