Check you are using Anti-Virus software that is on the Freelancer/Void white list, i'e AVG or Nod32, its most likely you are using Norton AV or Mcafee, neither of which will work.

create a rules into your firewall and allow all activities for freelancer and in your modem create a rule about the local port use freelancer

after this use flgws 0.9 workaround this soft connect you to global servers

Verm's right, the lone AV's i know that work with FL are :  Avira AntiVir - NOD32 - AVG (in the start, but blocks after some time with its big updates which needs reboot).

Hi,Welcome to The Void

along side the above sugestions please try this file

http://www.voidserver.com/modules.php?n ... tit&lid=33

what it does is adding a global server list so you can see The Void on the list.

also please PM me the char names or post them here so we can check to see if theres any possible error with your char files

have fun
Best Regards

I have discovered that Avira free AntiVir works OK on Vista and you get it free for one year...and Avast is ok for XP..

recent updates from AVG made it block FL when running under vista

but, a question...who needs AV when you can just stay careful? lol

personally i dont have AV, i just know how to avoid viruses

besides a system wipe wouldnt bother me much tbh..
