Re: Marauders VHF in development
Last time I checked, we were :P Once you've got a fully functional ship (cmp/mat, and preferrably sur), I suggest you send it over to Luke, as an example of what you can do. (If it's not finished though, I suggest you read some tutorials on the web, and ask around for help first.)

Re: Marauders VHF in development
I am working on it - with a lot of help actually...
I will bring a ship to you - one way or another.
As for joining the DEV team -- I will not drag anyone in the pit of rejects with me
.
I am a strange dude to work with and I need a hell of a lot practice to feel like belonging to your group.
I will beg you to let me in once I will acquire all the necessary knowledge.
Till then - let me embrace as a huge success just the completion of this ship.

MARAUDERS - Chapter II

From our humble beginning we have fought for others' fortune and interest, and we've grown.
The first instinct was always right, and we choose with our harts when we do it.
At first we supported the lawful side and now we are joining it full time.
A little late of an announcement , the cynics will say....but here it is, an official one none the less.
The lawful Marauders.
We pledge allegiance to the laws of man and its will to walk on the good path of life,
respecting each other and making a living in a sane and clean environment.
Our actions brought us to this moment and our diplomatic status allows us to do this move.
We've been known for a long time to be part of this side - we will not disappointing anyone.

As a continuation of Marauders Expansion,
a fleet of Seekers and Monarchs were sent to Tartarus
to occupy a strategic position in the defense plan for Babylonia.
The newly built After Dark is now a Marauders Outpost.
In collaboration with the Europa government the entire Europa zone of influence
is now contracted by Marauders for protection.

Re: MARAUDERS - Chapter II
BREAKING NEWS: The After Dark under attack, Marauders declared hostile by Zoners and the Bounty Hunters Guild
Earlier today, the group known as the Marauders launched a surprise attack against the After Dark, a Zoner station located in Tartarus, which is operated by Duval Enterprises.
"The attack by the Marauders was entirely unprovoked, and without warning", the station's captain, Joe Thurlwell (who is also a major stockholder in Duval Enterprises), has stated. "Their ships docked, just like anyone else, but once they all landed in docking bay 3, they moved to seize control of it."
"They were obviously prepared for the attack, but we were not", the station's security chief (who has since resigned from his post, and requested that his name remain anonymous) told reporters. "We expected them to have advance warning about attacks: we shouldn't have. The blame rests on my shoulders for the failure of security inside the docking bay, so I resigned from my job."
Since then, the After Dark's captain had to completely seal off docking bay 3 from the rest of the station. "The Marauders have control of docking bay 3 and its facilities, but they are contained in there. Only battleship cannons could blast through the containment gates, and we've welded them into place. They can't be unlocked now. The rest of the station remains operational as before, though the space around the station is no longer considered to be safe." the station's captain has announced.
Mr. Duval, the CEO of Duval Enterprises, has made the following announcement. "Just as it has been stated by Mr. Thurlwell, the attack by the Marauders on our station was without warning, and completely unexpected. We are not sure what prompted them to do this, but what's done is done, and now it is our turn to respond to their aggression. Mr. Thomas Jameson, leader of the Council of Zoners, has agreed to our request, and declared the Marauders as no longer welcome on any Zoner station, and instructed Zoner pilots to consider their vessels hostile. In addition to this, I've also contracted the Bounty Hunters Guild to capture or kill any Marauder pilots, as well as put an independent bounty on their leader's head."
The Guild confirmed that they were hired by Duval Enterprises under a so-called "blanket bounty", which means they get 500,000 credits for every Marauder vessel they destroy or capture. For now, the contract is only open to members of the Bounty Hunters Guild and Zoners, but depending on the turn of events, Mr. Duval said that he might be willing to extend it to other groups as well. The first pilot to offer proof of the destruction of their leader's vessel (ID-d "die_Volker") will receive a reward of 20,000,000 credits, regardless of their affiliation.
Following the Marauders' announcement, which reported that "in collaboration with the Europa government the entire Europa zone of influence is now contracted by Marauders for protection", reporters from all major news agencies swarmed to get an official statement from the Europa Navy, as they are solely in charge of any Europan operations in Tartarus. The Admiralty Board was quick to issue a statement denying any connection to the attack. "We have no connections to the Marauders, official or otherwise, and certainly no contract for them to provide us "protection". Our fleets are strong, and our pilots are experienced enough to repel any threat, be it from aliens or humans - we do not need any third party to one-sidedly declare that we need them to protect Europan interests. The Marauders did not contact any officers of the Europa Navy about their intentions. We welcome any assistance provided by freelancers against our enemies, especially the Nomads, but the attack on the After Dark was made against a Zoner-affiliated group, whom we do not consider hostile. If the Marauders really wanted to help us, they should have attacked the Nomads, or the outlaws in the system."
When asked if they plan to respond with military action, Admiral Sikorsky responded: "The recent events in Tartarus are worrying, and might cause us to re-evaluate our relationship to the group, but we have received no call for help from the station in question, and do not plan to take any action on our own." Several reporters have also questioned this decision, as they stated that attacks on civilians in Europa space is illegal, so the Marauders broke Europan law. The board, however, has declared that the After Dark is outside the nebula surrounding the Tartarus system, and as was agreed when the station was constructed, outside of Europa's jurisdiction. "Because of this, as long as the Marauders don't break the law inside our space, the Europa Navy will remain neutral in this conflict."
--
to those interested in the bounty: it's only valid outside of the EFZ and the Event System, and for now, only for characters with a "BHG-" or "Zoners-" tag. (Except the 20 mill bounty, which is open to all.) Happy hunting! :P
to dV: if you are interested in roleplaying this, then please instruct your pilots not to land on any Zoner or Bounty Hunter bases, and to have their reps on hostile. If you're willing to do so, I think we can come up with a conflict surrounding the ownership of the station :P

Sorry for the no RP post but that last sentence of yours would make me think this entire RP story has happened without Die Volker knowing?

Yup, bounties don't have to have the consent of those they are posted on. Also, I saw no post from him approaching anyone about this, so that's why I asked if he really wanted to roleplay it. If not, then it's just another bounty, with a fancy backstory behind it, but if yes, then we might come up with something new :P
Update: well, we went with the first version, he didn't want to.

Marauders PR representative standing at the tribune, looking at the swarming army or reporters, coughs
and begins reading from his papers with a grave voice:
We realize that forcing Zoners to accept to take part of the new military plan in the area is a mistake.
Their stubbornness to be independent and "equal detached" from all sides could do more damage than good.
Although we do not approve of all their actions, and especially the heavy expansion into House territories,
occupying all new terraformed planets under the pretext of equal commercial opportunities for all factions,
we see forced to reinstate the After Dark as a Zooner area, but we will regularly send patrols that will scan
the access in the area. The After Dark is still a gate into Europa territory and has been under surveillance
ever since its construction as a point of entry for a lot of fugitives.
Marauders fleet are in course of transferring all defensive material and its fleet to the more friendly Tisiphone,
that lies its allegiance with our Europa Navy friends.
The new outpost will serve us well and its strategic location will allow us to cover more ground a day.
...turns at the Bounty Hunters delegation in the corner, smiling...
In all my life as a politician I never seen someone like you gentlemen, and I hope you are one of a kind.
Not that you are ready to turn against anybody for a hilarious amount of money, disregarding loyalties and treaties,
but you let anyone with a big pocket to play you as a toy and toss you into the fire... that is too much.
We were used with your sloppy work before, and each time you did mistakes we had to pick up the trash...and we were
the mercenaries...
Consider this an act of indulgence in our own pool of misunderstood principles: diplomatic stance unchanged.
Do not let this happen again gentlemen. We do our part sooner or later.

Re: MARAUDERS - Chapter II
Bounty against Marauders withdrawn, relations still tense with the Zoners
In response to the Marauders' withdrawal from the After Dark, and their subsequent announcement, Duval Enterprises has withdrawn the blanket contract they offered for the destruction of any Marauder ships. Since the damages caused by the attack have all been paid for (the exact amount of credits is kept secret by both parties), the Council of Zoners lifted the short-lived order for Zoners to consider the Marauders hostile, though they also issued a statement that pilots should be wary in any encounters.
Because the bounty has been withdrawn, the Bounty Hunters Guild have ceased their equally short-lived attacks as well. However, the representative of their delegation was upset enough by the insults of the Marauder leader that he posted a bounty of his own, with 25 million credits offered as reward. In addition, the Guild Council also stated that they'll be launching investigations into Marauder activities as well, as they claim to have reason to believe the organisation hides criminals as well.
The Marauder ships have moved on to Tisiphone, where they received an icy reception from the station's commander. Tisiphone has long been known for being almost autonomous from the Europa Navy's chain of command, and for the deeds of its previous commander, Admiral Caspire. The current head of the station, Commodore Augustus (who has earned a reputation for the harsh discipline he enforces aboard "his" station) has agreed to allowing the Marauders access to the station's non-military facilities, but only if they follow the military's orders in any matters concerning system security. However, he also stated that the Marauders have permission to stay aboard Tisiphone for three days only, and if their forces wish to remain any longer, they will have to agree to becoming a semi-independent wing under the Europa Navy's command. He also reportedly told the new arrivals that if they really want to help protect Babylonia, they should update their navmaps, "because the After Dark is the base that's the farthest from the gate".
Several reporters noted that the general mood among the Europa Navy's pilots seems to be bad, as most of them are irritated at the newcomers. One pilot, who asked to remain anonymous, has said the following in an interview: "We held our own out here fine without them, so now they waltz in here and want to own the place? Okay, we can always use an extra ship as a meatshield or to score a lucky kill, sure, but I don't want civvies jumping into my line of fire, and I'd rather if the Commodore kicked them off of our base. I don't wanna come down to my baby in the fighter bay and find that them Marauders claimed it for themselves." However, it seems that the pilots are divided on the issue, as another commented to us in the mess hall: "Well, I was out on patrol when they headed here, and I saw them space a couple of Fugies. Anyone who blows up those bastards is okay in my book... though from what I've seen so far, I wouldn't sit down to drink a beer with these guys."
(Shortly after this report was aired, an unnamed fighter pilot was reassigned by station command to the Freeport Support Base in Omicron Minor - which is widely considered to be a dead-end assignment within the Europa Navy.)
After the events, and the announcement by the Marauders, the Europa Navy was quick to announce that per their agreement, they do not consider the Zoners of the After Dark a security risk, and since they haven't had any official connections to the Marauders so far, they will take no responsibility for any of their past actions. However, the Admiralty Board is also rumored to be considering reinstating martial law in Tartarus, in light of the recent events. Though the system is designated as restricted space by the Europa Navy, such a move would stir up bad memories in many people, as the last time martial law was in effect there was when Admiral Caspire committed his atrocities against the one hundred captured prisoners aboard Tisiphone.

7. Vagu are defeated with the lose of their battleship.
8. Marauders are defeated if the vagu battleship makes it to takagies base in tohoku, with the gate in tow. *if all forces are out of lives
*9. the winners of 2 out of three rounds is the succesful team
Pay: 50 million to each team
(if the event team would like to fund this event then a new payment can be disscused, but that is all i can aford)
what the pirates do with the gate is up to them the vagu are workin on contract for the pirates to steal the gate (or gates) only. but we do hope they use them instead of dimantal
if marauders are succusful then we will lose the contract and not get paid.
The kusari navy is hiring the marauders to defend the gate since thier forces are out classed.
