Zeb I can't afford to exaggerate anything, I can't afford to be caught in any lies. There is too much focus on me already. So I make sure that anything I post on the forum can't be disputed. Because as soon as I open the door to doubt in my word the game is over for me. Certain individuals will try to destroy my character, and I don't mean here on Void..no, no, no for some it's just down right personal. Too many clan leaders have used hate for the next clan as motivation rather than giving them the skill to compete in game and that hate my friend has spilled over to the forums.
I'm very careful about what I say on this form. But people don't actually read them anyway, after about the 3rd line they skip to the next post lol. If anyone takes the time to read any of the post I've made about this war, you can only count once where I used the word (honor) and actually I used the word (Honored) I was saying that TRIAD honored one of our allies. But if you read the flames it took a new life about honor. They actually responded to something they didn't see, I find that to be a fault in reading skills.
Watchwolf, there have been may times we have disagreed on certain points, but man you kept it fair. Many things didn't go in my favor because you where there to set me straight. The end result is you made me a better Voidian, rather than the wild Child I was when I first came here. So I'm just one person you made a better person because of your efforts. I train my troops a lot, but all I want as a clan leader is to make just one pilot better than I am. When I do that, all the hours of shooting rocks in asteroid fields to sharpen my moves, reaction time and aim will have been worth it.
So you leaving opens a little hole in the damn, that holds ignorance back. Over time i'm sure you know what will happen. So I'm asking you to reverse your decision, take some time off and reconsider. You leaving is nothing more than a small victory flammers, and those that instill hate.

If I may, I'd like to add my voice. I've been an admin or on admin teams since 2003, so I've seen all this before...
Every server needs drama. Yes, you heard right... needs. A server with no drama is boring. Nothing drives drama better than the strife of LAWFUL Vs. OUTLAW. The trick is to keep the drama and strife of these arch-foes from spilling into player vs player strife. Characters are what we RP let's keep our drama in the RP. So, one solution is to make a RP forum so the posts about war and strife have a place to express themselves in a RP context that won't become personal. At least less likely to, we're human and get emotional. Does anyone really want to drive someone off the server? A server with all LAW or all OUTLAW is soon empty.
Make a forum for the RP drama already. Punish personal non RP attacks there, but let the drama flow.

Agreed. DRAMA is necessary, but it doesnt need to decend to the very personal insult level. Try and keep things in RP as best you can. TRIAD have been major victims of this as have a few others in their time. How you choose to react to any negative "Press Reports" from other individuals will show how you are as a Clan and as a Leader. Im all for calling out the NAVY and the LAW in RP for everything that the -=REAVERS=- are about - I will post RP comments now and again - but then for the most of the time we remain silent and the only one talking when it comes to RP for -=REAVERS=- is me! All of that said, the Pirates could do with talking to each other more and presenting a more united front against the Lawful clans. This recent war has been an excellent example - its good to have them from time to time. Accusations of cheating and bad sportsmanship fall outside of the RP realm and should not be combined when refering to combat and who won what battle - if at all possible they should be addressed as separate issues. Just my thoughts is all...
Keep up the good work chaps - Zeb

some pirate/ evil clans can keep things together and are organised you know
Frobozz, I think you're bob on there. That was the solution I was trying to find but seemed just out of my grasp. Drama is very neccesary but keeping it in an rpg context vital to the enjoyment of the game. Perhaps an rpg forum is a good idea, but there's no reason why we can't incorporate it into normal posts. After all, its an rpg!

I'm glad I rarely turn an eye to the forums to the present day. To be fair I haven't seen a half-decent post in a long time worthwhile posting in. Back when people were posting on ''You know when you've been playing freelancer too much" etcetera we all actually realized it is a game and it seems now things have spiraled far off kilter, differences in opinions always seem to be flying left right and center.
Personally I no longer see the point in the forums apart from explanation of the rules and basic information. It just seems everything clashes.
My two cents.
Lloyd.

@ watchwolf
im really sorry you feel thats way wolf.
i no i hardly met you in space (that i no of)- (its mainly your posts that make me write this) but listen to what is have to say please..
a while back after some vets left and it seems personal abuse both in forums and in game increased, (for you to make this thread i no you noticed it) a few other vets and i were talking, the general theme was, how things wernt the same coz of some leaving and kinda lonely without faces n names you knew, that the respect also was going fast as well and well- becouse of this were talking bout leaving- the point then was made-
if ***** and **** and ******** and me also leave, that makes even less long term players
on the void who (and the reason they long term is coz they havnt got banned for naughtyness so have got there heads screwed on) can (and do) teach newer ones how to behave and what is acceptable and not. the other aspect of it is then still OTHER long term players would look around and see noone they no about anymore and the whining and bitching from others and leave void as well and so on...
you watchwolf are a good person, from what i read on forums your one of the people EVERYONE here should THANK for this server -
now its your call weather to go or stay or whatever, but i for one say - dont go m8
your a piller of voidness and the server- will feel the loss.
reagards, Aielman.

ok now here is what you do. first of all this happens every 6 to 8 monthes there are some big flame wars. happen lots of time before it will happen again because people play here and people are emotional creatures.
so wolf step back dont read the forums for about 3 monthes and it will be better, some of the oldest and some times even most respected players have started this wars in the past. but remember this, a flame can only burn if it has fuel. once the flame runs out of fuel the flame is gone.
so i would suggest that you all take a lesson from bambi the movie if you have nothing good to say say nothing at all. that is a free piece of advice to you all. one person bragging trying to bait anouther group of people is sad. but just like fishing the person goes home empty handed if nothing( if no one in this case) takes the bait. so when someone comes on here trying to wind you and your clan up just laugh at them and go on or better yet just dont read the post, and sure dont reply. i have been here over 2 years and only have like 170 post i see people who have been here less than a year with over 1000 post because they cant keep the mouth shut and have to put in their 2 cents all the time.
some times the best response is not to respond at all.
have a good day!!
