This isnt a dig at u X but most navy/order guys say that but when it comes down to it in game do u really pay up or do u run then change to your fighter like most do?
I have seen most navy guys do this and when your in one char isnt it spose to be a different kinda RP then your clan tags ?
BTW "tried" to tax 2 ppl in sparta about 5 minutes ago and what do i get? no answer then a bunch of foreign words, so is this what RP has come down to then? if so then i might aswell just play R in my clan char
Cya in space

Many have witnessed the demise of Piracy - it has forced many into the R category where they didnt realy want to go. I have witnessed at first had the return of the F1 key misuse. Personaly, next time I come across a trader pulling this stunt - I will ban them for misuse of the F1 facility.
Youve all witnessed it. Trader emerges from gate - sees Pirate / Rogue / -=REAVERS=- and makes a run for it - (and why not we all say) - Player is then pursued by his assailant. NOW - this is where it gets interesting - in the perfect world the Trader outruns and dodges his attacker and trys to negotiate the system while the hunter attempts to track down his prey - and either demand tax or shoot his N@ts off.... Trader dies and the whole cycle of life starts again. HERE IS THE CRUNCH - not satisfied with outrunning the hunter - The Trader then, to avoid being hunted - waits till he is far enough away from the pursuing hunter and then F1's OUT OF THE GAME.. thereby avoiding the penalty.
Please send me screen shots of traders doing this and I will ban every last one of them.
Cut it out. Play the Game. Give up some of the Tax and keep the X tags off your back.
Just a thought. - Zeb :D

Hmm, tinted glass's from the past.
Pirates have always complained, from day one, well the first month of the server going live, So have traders.
Tohoku, was lambasted by pirates and traders alike because they could make too much money in quick runs. The fights were brief and always involved the same people in Tohoku.
People will only pay if they think thy will lose less by paying and its worth their while. IMO pirates have as much to do with this as traders. I believe players will pay tax, if they find it interesting and "part of the experience".
People who just sit there and tax, really dont deserve anything, pirates who rp a pirate etc, will more than likely get some payment or thrill of the chase. Either way, its more fun to RP a pirate than just type out the mundane words tax.
I cant make people do stuff and i sure cant make traders pay taxes, but I'm sure if there was an attempt at RP a pirate that the trader player can relate to, you will end up with money in the long run. Siting around typing tax as soon as a player comes on the radar, deserves you absolutely nothing.

The boss is spot on, if pirates wish to have respect from others for the role they play they should put at least some effort into their side of things. This afternoon I witnessed one well known pirate sat behind the shield in Sparta shooting players as they docked without even a word. Are people realy going to play ball if pirates display such a lack of gameplay?
There are some x's on the Void who do bother so why ruin it for them?

@ [BLK_LGN][X]Zeus .. That is so lame to jack this thread like that. >:P
Just in case anyone missed this simple truth ....
RP in Freelancer is the Players Responsibility.
The Players themselves must choose to play their respective role if they choose to role play at all.
Pirates should expect fights.
Of course no one wants to pay tax .. Why would anyone?
Traders should expect to die .. A lot.
Players that are mad about being "pirates that can't get others to pay tax" should
go kill pirates or defend traders instead.
Pirates should change role and be Pirate Killers if there are too many Pirates.
Pirate Killers should expect fights.
Traders who get escorts that defend them successfully should pay a fee to their escort.
The problem isn’t tax.
The RP balance of the game is up to the players.
So if it’s stale .. Change your RP.
RP in Freelancer is the Players Responsibility.
RP in Freelancer is the Players Responsibility.
RP in Freelancer is the Players Responsibility.
Oh , did I say ???
RP in Freelancer is the Players Responsibility.
Scream On !

unfortuanatly i dont think the server can do anything that keeps both sides happy.
i know for a fact ive never paid a pirite tax becuase , u all know i use to be navy right. we i suppose navy or order if ur saying ur fighting against pirites and all, the first thing u got to do is prove to others that u can stand against them by saying no when they ask for cash.
i suppose more players are more happy to die than lose money even if it isnt much. as i said if u have 3 options really and none are good .
options
1. say that traders must pay as a rule - this would just anoy traders on the server
2. say traders can choose for themselves - everyoen will say no to pirites and the pirites will be anoyed
3. leave thigns the way they are and pirtes will still be anoyed.
theirs no way everyone can win is their?
M8 he dosent like being a rouge , he loves being a rouge. if u ask me it suits him and he builds it into his everyday playing on void. ur good at what u do ghost.

This always happens the thing i noticed that happens with Void is this
1 half of the year is split into there is nothing but navy clans and pirates complain about loosing RP and all that
the second half there is nothing but pirates and the navy complain about loosing RP cos there are too many. its a perpetuating cycle that always happens
i have been here three years and every year is the same, half of it is the navy the other its pirates
you just have to realise to stick it out and soon enough it will be the pirates turn to shine
