Personally If I was an American, Hilary Clinton would not get my vote as she is a weak woman (After the famous dress and cigar incident she stayed with her awful hubby). Obama is young and energetic and seems to be a people person.

Unfortunately, the next President of the United States of America will likely be McCain. The Republicans are not going to relinquish power at such a critical turning point in America's societal development. Through some sort of electoral chicanery they will manage to maintain power in the Whitehouse. (If you'll notice, they just recently paraded out supposed "terrorist" involved in 9/11 for trial or execution or something of the like.... ... ... Like THAT'S coincidental timing... "See, we're making progress, we're making progress! We're getting the terrorists!" just in time to save face before the election that looks like popular opinion is shifting to  a more Democratic standpoint...

As for the wars... I wish I could blame it solely on Bush... but he was just puppet, a pawn if you will, of the major motivational forces for every war America has been involved in since Vietnam  : INDUSTRY.

And there are a lot of people who will vehemently argue against that, and that's just fine. That's a very harsh, unforgivable reality to have to face, and most American's just aren't up to stomaching that truth.  We are a culture and society of fearful, paranoid people led by misinformation, hate, and a severe lack of understanding of the rest of the world's various cultures and mentalities. In fact, different cultures, sociological ideas and customs are often met with fear and hostility.  Though there is an increasing number of the population fighting  against this very overwhelming trend, it borders on "too little too late" when taken into the World view. That American people have let themselves be distracted for long enough by mass-marketed media entertainment that  its government has had more than enough time to completely piss the rest of the world off is a very sad state of affairs. Americans themselves do much to further this world view by their almost xenophobic reactions to foreign cultures that aren't present just-so by the media.

One American can be very smart.
As a people, en masse, Americans are dumb, stupid animals, easily panicked by buzz words and a well-presented newscast.

I fear and despair in the coming years for the fate and societal health of the country I live in and love.

they seem to have a bigger security lately

It's a standard open-to-the-public Whitehouse tour and you'll be escorted with a tour guide through roped off sections of the Whitehouse.......no clearance required lol  ;)
