Promethius...you've gotta remember...that's exactly what the Republicans are and always have been saying about the Democrats.
Politically, I'd say I'm more liberal than conservative, but each party has a few good policies, in my opinion...good and bad ideas don't necessarily fall neatly along party lines. I think that in America, we're too quick to condemn people as "stupid" or "bad leaders" because they belong to a particular party, or vote for a particular candidate. But every political figure (with few exceptions - there have been a fair share of dictators/etc. who just want power) has something in common...they care enough to serve their country by running for office. They're trying to run the nation in the way they think is best, regardless of the party they're in, and regardless of what you might think of their policies
It's all too easy to portray the "other side" as an enemy, until you realize they're not so different from you.
Okay...the preachy rant is over now. :D
[edit] - thanks for the "balanced" view point. Personaly, politicians are not to be trusted - they are people pleasers and will tell you what you want to hear... nuff said - see previous edit of last post.... Zeb
