Yay I'm in thanks m8. This is a good idea. Don't mind if I 'borrow' your idea and make one on the Reavers forum guys?

We've had one of these for ages but since we moved to the new forum it's never been filled up. ^^

:-? I have an observation to make.   This is a good idea, however there is one inherant problem with this.  Its obvious that laggers are a big problem and that some do it deliberately.  When experiencing severe lag and its just you, do the right thing and LOG OFF...  When there were problems with the Version Checker causing me lag I stayed off - no point in dragging down the rest of the server.  To stay on and cause lag whether deliberate or unintentional is just selfish.

Cheating:  Ok here is the problem.  I have a list of those that I suspect of cheating in a variety of different ways.  The improved FLAC here does work and rids us of some of the worst amatuers out there.  The problem is that there exists a small band of experienced hackers who know exactly how far they can push the mod.   On occasions they "goof" a bit and it becomes obvious - sadly without any actual proof there is litte the server guards can do.  The nearest thing we can get is an admission to another player or a boastful message on an offsite thread.  Lets face it some of them cant help themselves and they have to boast it to someone.  If you ever get any evidence like this pass it on.  Its not "telling tales"  - its grassing up people that are making your gameplay time worthless and its spreading suspicion amongst the rest of the players here.  I have noticed that certain players who are skilled get called "cheater".  This is a sad fact that the less experienced will call this rather than admit they were bested.  This is where the difficulty lies.  I have personal experience of being constantly beaten by certain players - then, when some changes are made to the security here - lo and behold - I can toast 'em.  Give it a few days and all of a sudden we are back to where we were before.  Am I having fun?  Well when this happens - no Im not.  Its a waste of my time.  Unless you can prove beyond all reasonable doubt that someone is cheating then a thread like that is frankly worthless.  I can point a finger at someone but without any proof - whats the point?  As I said - just an observation.

By all means keep this thread active and if you come up with any unrefutable evidence pass it on to me and the miscreant will be sorted out.
