EVERYTHING is affected by who wins a war and who doesnt, even the innocent trees...the ones losing doesnt have trees left

the same about propaganda like the cold war was all about, the marshall help (or whatever its called) was not an kind act, it was an act to defeat communism due to a thing in the contract saying that they HAD to buy from USA again, and what is the result? USA won the propaganda war and the cold war, ended up in alot of movies where russians were the bad guys as movie companies only care about what sells and what does not, same with game developers

The Call Of Duty in my mind was always used as a way to fully represent what the wars felt like. I remember playing CoD3 a while back thinking "Is this how It would have been? Fuck this!". These games aren't meant to spawn controversy or to be a form of propoganda, they are a way of showing off a war time environment without the need for actual killing. I play the CoD games for the single player campaign as I always think they represent the actual environment and feel of war well. Other games are too "KILL ALL OF THEM!" where as CoD tries to put you in the role of an actual person, something I respect alot.

Now Ill agree that I'm not a fan of this video. Not because I find it offensive, But because I know there are a LOT of kids that play these games including quite a few on my 360 list. I know it has a tag marking "18" and is an "optional" mission but it doesn't change the fact that the content is there. People over the age of 18 that are shocked by this should expect it from a war game. There have been FAR worse visual feasts than what I saw in this video but ill admit that its fairly distasteful.

Conclusion: Its wrong because kids are getting hold of these games, Its okay because its not REAL!

First things first, the tag title in the youtube video says COD4...and this isn't COD4 but hey I like stating the obvious  :D

When I played this game on regular difficulty I didn't shoot the civilians, and when I played through on Veteran difficulty I didn't shoot the civilians.  It felt weird to even watch.  As said earlier, Infinity Ward likes to get as close to realism as possible, and with this mission they wanted to smack their audience with some realism, and it worked.  It got people all worked up.

I can't think of any comparable missions in the GTA series like this.  Most the ones I remember had you shooting at gangs or cops or druglords, etc...  You had the free will to kill random civilians, but it didn't feel as extreme as this above COD mission felt.  The only fun civilian worth killing in GTA are the prostitutes because they drop money  :P

@nomad: some military acutly uses video games to train soldiers, but these are specialy designed and not something you can get in the store so

@the poll: yes i think games that show things like MW2 should be banned. oh by all means i got nothing against shooters (other then that they are boring ), but scenes like that should never be shown in a video game =/

also you cant compare MW2 to GTA4. MW2 is way more extreme, more or less shows how we conduct warfare in RL and so on. <_<

I took an actual picture of my game cartridges and how amazing, COD4 Modern Warfare is written on the package, but you don't see COD4 Modern Warfare 2 on the second hmm pathetic

Hey Ryus long time no see.  You may not remember me but that's cool, it's been awhile.  Well I was being sarcastic but maybe my humor is misunderstood.  Those who remember me from the past here know how my humor goes.  I always played the Rogue RP, the badass, Ghost and I always said "Ghosted" and I carried my RP personality into the forums.  Unfortunately on text and blogs and forums you can't always see the person's true intentions thus the reason why emoticons were invented and short slang like 'lol' and 'lmao' are used.

Notice the very last thing in my writings is an 'lmao' meaning I was laughing and being sarcastic, just as sarcastic as Mick was.  And I even put a smiley in there  :P

Hmm, here I was thinking you missed his joke and apparently I missed yours, thats what I get for reading the forums too late in the evening, after a 12 hour day at work  :P .  You are right though, what sounds sarcastic or funny in our head doesn't always transfer into the keyboard, sometimes theres a disconnect beween what you meant and what I read.
