I think it would be enougf just to lower max players limit.

Maybe it would be less players, but we could some fun atleast. 8) 8) 8)

Or make some donations so Admins can fix problem tehicaly.

BTW.....what is the bandwidth and what machine is in the server that runs freelancer.

If it is too low, maybe increasing will help.

And if it is too expencive for you, I will first donate some money for it.
Void server have 10,000> players and if all donate 1$ :D its good money for some upgrade....

Actually there is a Donation option set up. It´s pretty visible, just above the last posts box.
And it´s there because the new server that Strail got some months ago is quite expensive.

The server is good, but it just can´t handle 100 players at the moment. At least not with the configuraton it has now (high NPC numbers, loads of projectiles,etc.... everything that makes the Void great :D )

The admin have done their part extreamley whell in the past

although taking the NPC out of sparta could cutdown on some lag ( that is if they are still there)

the NCD needs to die or be modifiyed to shoot at a .80 fire rate plain and simple

wineing about lag doesnt help it just spams

and we dont have 10,000 people we have 10,000 chars that are active

BUT having 5 chars a peace means we have a community 2K strong and growing every day AND there are people who dont have 5 chars there for you can Know that there are more than 2K i would estamate about 2.5-3.0K for actual people but that is still a statium load of people

Actually, I don´t think that counter means chars. It probably means players, meaning the different IPs. But of course I´m just guessing.

Anyway, this is not the point, the point is the player limit on-line.
This is not complaining, this isn´t "spam", this is feedback on how the server handles the high number of players.

Already tried to make a donation, but it's not possible from Croatia, at least for the time... :?

Hi all,

I am Fairly new to the void compared to some of you guys, lol, i have been playing on it for around a month now, and have only been playing freelancer online for about 3 months total (Only other server played on was jolt 1) i'm not a computer genius, far from it as my mates will tell you  but 1 of my mates told me about the mod manager and that there are different versions of freelancer available and so on, so we had a scout about and the first real system change/extra ships mod we came across was the void one, read up about it, sounded good, so thought we would pop on and have a look (Mainly due to lots of idiots on the Jolt server) anyway suffice to say i absolutely love it!! Wooooohoooooooo!! and have been spending most of my life on it since (much to the detrement of my health and social life, lol) all my mates who played and liked freelancer have been on too and think its the business too, great fun and also quite importantly hardly any idiots, everyone seems pretty fair (Apart from the odd occasion) and i found help as soon as i got on the server, a variety of people pointed me in the right direction (New systems, ships, weapons etc etc) and also due to the time i have spent on the server i have made some pals online too, anyway apologies for going on a bit, just wanted to post how i found the void and what i think of it, lol

So back to the main point of the post, i have noticed in the last week or so regular bouts of laggg, and as other people have mentioned it makes the game unplayable, which is kind of frustrating as i love playing on the server, and there have also been a number of crashes and the server being down quite often which again is a real shame, personally i will say that i am more than happy to contribute to the servers upkeep and to be perfectly honest last week i was going to do a donation anyway, more than fair in my opinion, as it has given me a lot of enjoyment in the past month or so, however with all the recent problems i am just curious as to whether it will be resolved in the near future, i'm not a tighta*** or anything, lol, its just that if the server continued running as it is i have to say i wouldnt play on it anymore, as much fun as i have had previously, its frustratingly annoying trying to shoot anything when the server lags, and virtually impossible to complete a mission.

I would just like to add to this post that i totally appreciate all the work the admins do and obviously strail for providing the server and letting me play on it, its brought many hours of fun into my life, and in no way do i mean this post to be offensive in any way, i thoroughly enjoy my life in the void server and 1 of my female friends even had a go the other day when she popped around "Amazing what you can do on computers nowadays isnt it" those were her words, lol, she tought it was fun too even though she kept crashing into everything and killing my character!!! hahaha

I hope this post is taken the way it was meant to be taken from me, as a very keen voidian (Although newish) and with the voids best intentions.

And i will stop typing now too as i have just noticed how much i have written 8O 8O sheesh!!!

Haven´t anybody gaffer in NASA? May be they have any useless computing power for 500 players. :)

No, amount 100 players is good way. Lags are unfortunately the dark side of this. :(
