The Problem with our Clan is that most of us are on different time zones but if you check the global stats you can see that most of us have all been on over the last week or so.

Chaniging the way the thread is going I would like hunters to be able to fine pirates. At the moment a pirate can repawn and respawn and keep asking for tax. The battle never ends until he is bored even though hes outfought sometimes. If Hunters can fine it brings an end to a battle that technically we cannot win.

After 5 or 6 wins we can say for example. "200k old chap and you are free to go." That is leave the system and stop pirating here for a few hours.

Me again  :P

It could happen that 5 guys build up a clan and then use their other 4 free chars to build 4 more clans!!.   #-o

Solution is: PAY to stay

Five players can afford a monthly fee to keep their base or clan running, but never 5 clans.

I like Hash's idea- it can be rather hard to verify whether or not a clan is still active by how often its members actually come online, as can be evidenced by the objections that keep springing up here when someone tries to say a clan is inactive; but if they've missed a payment then the records will show that plain as day.

Also, if during an activity lull a clan can still keep itself financed, it's obvious that they aren't just sitting around twiddling their thumbs, and therefore deserve the chance to be allowed to survive.

Also, this:
Ghosty wrote:what about DELETE all the locked sections?
would be a good place to start. Why jump straight to talking about getting rid of existing clans to clear away the clutter when dispanded clans still have boards that can be cleared away first.

Hash's idea seems possible and functional.

Now for the clan sections to be deleted right now and don't even bother (imho):

OUTCASTS
CSNU
~{BH}~
BRO
-]R.I.P.[-
F.T.P.
TNG
Z.O.N.
RHAPSODY

As for the other semi-dead clans... guys you just have to proove yourselves to the community as worthy of having a clan section or even to be called a "CLAN". Simple as that.

The idea of the  Hall of Fame is good also, do something for the old classic clans (you all have my respect) but these clans must understand their place in history, don't just become an obstacle to new players who want to join a solid clan.

Just my 2cents

Other clans?? Which clans u mean shon??
I see only new clans! Yea some clans maybe grow, but its almost all EVIL or X clans. Which navy clan is growing?

RedS is playing few times in week, Ram play at weekend and im here almost everyday. So u must miss something.
I dont say we r much active or growing, but i think we r active enough for survive on VOID. There is many clans which r less active than we r.

I think somebody put AoF in the list of clans to be deleted.

We are not inactive. We have more than 25 members and all the wings are active.

So as far as the criteria for deletion of clans due to inactivity goes we certainly cant be deleted.

Sure we dont have a specific RP,sure u can say we are not a true clan and we can be called only a "clan".
But we have an idenity here on Void.We are completing 2 years here on Void and our idenity is that of an ASSOCIATION.

As an association we have some features of a guild and some of a clan.

My question is-
Why cant  guilds be given the same privileges as that of a clan?
There is not a single guild on Void(!) and attempts made by Watchwolf and others have failed.

AoF was an experiment, guilds haven't work in Void, and some, some freelancers wanted the best of both the worlds-
Belonging to a clan like organization and at the same time enjoy the freedoms of a freelancer.
Thats why AoF was BORN.

For me AoF is a success,
We are currently managing the most complex diplomacy in Void, are attempts to remain neutral while having a Pirate wing(X) and its anti-thesis the Traders Wing(T) is nothing but in short a miracle.

Our A Wing comprising mostly normal freelancers is in Top 10 NPC kill list of Void.(Rank:10 and Rank 4 in terms of ranks)

I would like to quote Greaver here-
"RP Evolves"
Certain clans will have RPs that constantly evolve and having strict RP clans-pirate,navy,assassin,trader,order,nomad would take away all the diversity in Void.(If i am not Syndicate used to be "good" before turning "evil")

Dont decide whats to be included or not to be included in terms of just RP.

Ok - before this decends into "your not deleting my clan" argument lets return to the discussion.  Whilst not very subtle Shonen does reais a valid point and also points to one of the problems that this has.

AoF - from what I see are a very active clan  - just not as active as before and maybe they are not on during the time frame of certain players which gives the illusion of inactivity - same goes for some of the older clans here.

I suspect that Strail - as the system administrator and all round top dude, can actually "see" who are the more active.  Old or not - if your members dont turn out and if your Forum is locked or at least dormant then see my previous post.   You can always start the clan up again using the basic clan rules - 5 active members over a period of 100hrs.

The list that Shonen has written is large and there are many on there who would not be deleted as they are active.  Thats for Strail to decide. Delete the locked sections on the forum and the clans associated with them? Yes - definately, as this shows a high level of inactivity.  "Semi-Dead" - again - there are two important questions. How many active members do they have?  How often are they on over a weekly average - some may only get to play mid week  -  others may only get to play at weekends and evenings.  Its not about who should be deleted at this point - its about what criteria do you set for the deletion of clans - Any Clans - regardless of age and seniority - if they are still active within the parameters then there is no problem.

Payment to have a clan?  Nope - dont like it.  You are forcing players into doing something that they may not want to spend to much time doing - thats ok for trader RP's and such or even those that have a big player base with a mix of playing styles but its a tough one for those that are starting out - sure it adds a certain insentive to keep active if you want your clan to live - I appreciate that, but I am wary of the whole "pay to play" scenario thats all.  Now pay to have a base? Thats a little bit different - Rent A Base Corporation will rent out stations to individual clans - and you know they are all gonna want one - or not as the case may be - that will stimulate activity and therefore point to those that are interested in the wider aspect of the game, while allowing those who just want to come here and shoot things to do exactly that.

Ok - so to recap - This is not about who needs to be deleted right now - its about what criteria you need to set in order to organise and tidy up the VOID that is littered with Disused Clans and Forums.

About "Hash"'s idea,....Dalek wrote it first. :-??

Quote from DALEK:     "in fact clan bases should be wiped unless paid for by the clan for instance 300mil a month that way clans need be active to keep there assets"

300M is tooo much, what about 50M? :D

I've just readed your post Zeb.

It's not pay to play, it's just to keep your clan active with bases and presence in Forums. You still can fly with "unofficial" clan tags and have the same fun.

I said i "might" be re-building SWAT.  I am still thinking about it, so i was just asking Strail not to delete SWAT section untill me and NRaider have made our minds up.

here is the thing there shonen i see 5 kba everyday on here. alot of them live in usa after you are off but they are here. i see on average at least 5 bbb everyday also.

kosmiker i agree with your list except for tng they are on from time to time. but they are a real clan. they dont just play freelancer togeather they play all games togeather. like many of the old clans if they are not here that day they may be on bf2 or 2142 togeather but you can bet they are playing togeather like a clan. you could add to the list.

tsf
dw (dard wing) they moved a years ago.

like i said tho being a clan needs to be tuffer and to have aclan bases should be for those that have stayed and past the test of time. not just money anyone can trade all day for a week and have 1 billion credits that does not mean you will be here next week.
