Freelancer - The Void

*this is a bump for some people who didn't get it last time...

BUMP.

And let me highlight a few lines from the post:

*- WE WILL NOT ENTER INTO A DEBATE OR ARGUMENT ABOUT YOUR BEHAVIOUR AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.  Take the telling off - apply the instructions or be banned.  Your choice.

*- If we feel that you are presenting a bad attitude and persist in behaviour that is considered unacceptable to us after you were warned you will be banned.  Reports of bad behaviour backed up with evidence will be acted upon.  You have been warned.

*- RESPECT GOES A LONG WAY ON THE VOID. Disrespect and argue with us, dont expect us to behave kindly towards you.

*- If you are here to :

- Argue with VOID or ADMIN tagged players
- Be a Pain and pushing a poor attitude
- Do something we find inappropriate

Then dont bother - go play somewhere else  - we will not tollerate it.

It seems that some people have missed the point of the lines above. Point in question is that there is more than just the written Server Rules. It's called common sense. Respect where respect is due. If you wittingly choose to be a pita after been warned several times, there is no place for you here.

Given some recent actions .... VOIDIANS - all of you - READ THIS, its important as it ammounts to a "mission statement" from the VOID guardians. DO not think that we will allow certain behaviours to continue unchecked here.  Above all, have fun and Scream On!

Man what happened here , i've been gone for eight months , and when i returned i found  very low population , and in short time almost no activity very often.I have heard about people leaving to the Discovery server (in my opinion - excuse language - SUCKS!) , looked for them there but they weren't there too.Why all good people left ? This is a very good server.Cheaters left cuz they can't cheat anymore? Is there anything that can be done? Can we (and by "we" I mean everybody who likes this server an wants it back like in the past) do something to unleash the action like it was 3-4 years ago? I hope yes , because i miss the days that sometimes there was no room for me to log in because too many were playing.

It seems that the [R] tag has finally achieved it's goal of crippling this server...
@Admins:You have created this tag which only encourages players to go on solo rampages instead of choosing a "social" in-game path (joining a clan or RP-ing for example)
You have created it so you won't have to deal with a full inbox of complaints about players getting shot down without any reason?
Was it really so hard to create a "killing abuse" rule?
Let's have a look at the webpaige aswell...what disgusts me most is the introductio of the "colored forum nicknames" which in my opinion is just disrespectful and downgrading towards the other "non-colored" forum members of the community.
Has this forum turned into a freaking Kindergarden where everybody is suppose to receive a colored nickname?No wonder you don't get new members as they probably feel themselves unwanted and unwelcomed due to this colorfull rubbish.
It's just childish and unessential.
@vector-x: i just hope you find a way to restore the website as it was 4 years ago because right now it looks like crap (no disrespect intended)
@Strail & Rimshot good luck with the 2145 project hopefully it will turn out as a good and much needed mod because right now it doesn't look very bright for the Void.

Admins did not create the [R] tag, players did.

Any player, by there actions; forcing a fellow player to leave the server because of multiple killing, abuse, or harassment will be banned. Players with this selfish attitude are not wanted on this server. Players facing this abuse are to send a PM with unaltered screen shots to an Admin here on the web site, or speak in game to Server staff.

Guess where i copied that from?

There may be more colors nowadays, but the concept is nothing new. It is not disrespectful in any way, it just makes it easier to see who belongs to which group. Btw, you dont mind the post count and ranks system, do you?

You ARE being disrespectful, shame on you.

@ Burn: well, it looks like flinging insults and assigning blame on others is easier than making actual suggestions to make the place better, is it? :P Oh wait, you did make one, namely to bring the default theme (you can switch themes, did you know that?) from... four years ago? Uh, think about it for a moment, man, do you really believe that it is backed up from way back then? :)
Oh, and your rant about colored nicknames really cracked me up, so thanks for that :D (Could somebody make a colored nickname for him as well? "Veteran NPC killer" or something. I hear pink is free, and it's a lovely color :D) In my experience, most of the newcomers to the server don't even check the forums, by the way, so whatever increases and decreases activity happens in-game, not here. I hardly believe that the [R] tag would ruin the server, because players are warned at every step that this is a shooter server, and people might shoot at you without prior notice. Hell, even on other very much active servers where they do have a rule about that I've seen players shout "Engaging XY!" and immediately open fire, so I guess that's not it :P
Now, do you have any good suggestions to make about improving the gameplay on the server? If so, I believe we're all listening.

Most of what Burn said is mindless rant, from a Voidian who is quite obviously pained at seeing the current state of affairs. So i understand and forgive him.

But he did mention the [R] tag,now he may not have said it in the right way, but there is some truth in what he said.

cmdrsaman,you may not have been here when DTA(Death to All) existed.
The infamous DTA, the only Rogue clan ever to be formed in Void did increase the friction and tension among players. The server rules were inadequate to deal with a rogue clan and it is only after a lot of mayhem was caused that the rule got amended and rogue clans were not allowed anymore.
The rise of rogue RP led to the fall of the pirate RP here.

Things could have been managed better then.... :-<

@cmdrsaman-Only after DTA left that Zeb started KOBK(Kill or be Killed) which was similar to DTA but tried to avoid the evils of DTA. KOBK became Reavers. And you are leading Reavers 3.0 now. And now I hope you understand why some people call Reavers as 'masked rogues'. It is an allusion to not just your RP but the dark past of DTA. (My intention to write this here is not to malign Reavers but to explain the context,I have deep respect and admiration for Reavers. )

Besides this, there are other reasons for our decline,but i will not mention them here out of respect for the server admins who are trying to revive the Void now.

There is little use talking about the past now.

I'v ben here for long enuf to see that a lot of the best stayed . When your a part of a good server you do not up and leve for any reson. Why would I leve the best server out there? For 4 years the Void has ben my home and the only way I'll leve is by being ban. (in 4 years not 1 ban) The [R]'s , [X]'s and other clans make the Void what it is. Fun ! Follow the rules to the letter and fight for whats yours , treat others the way you wont to be treated . Sounds easy enuf to me.
