Did you guys hear about the White Supremacists who planned an assasination attempt on Obama? There plan was to rob a gun store, then use the guns from that store to kill 100 black people, then kill Barack. All in one day. Not exactly the smartest of the most subtle way of assasinating a president I've ever heard of...

Just goes to show there are some people in the world that really do not deserve the light of day.

I would just like to say to those I'm supporting "No, no, Mr. X.  Don't trouble yourself with getting a job.  I've got your back.  No, no, Ms. Y.  I don't really need to save my money for myself so that when the social security money dries up in 20 years I can support myself and family.  I really haven't minded paying for other people's social security, welfare, and innumerable other government programs since I started working and paying taxes at age 16.  I don't mind helping those who can't help themselves.   Of course, I know it's too hard on most of you to try."

So, I'm sure things will all work out as long as there's someone around to give their money to me when I'm destitute.

Ok  - given my post on the Karma thread Im going to try and handle this carefully......

We can draw all sorts of conclusions from many things and some of them are more ridiculous than others.  9/11 observers are divided into several areas of opinion.  Some crazier than others.  As to Osama bin Laden not being real?
What do you know of him?  He is the son of a very weatlhy Saudi Arabian construction magnate.  They have a huge power base in southern Saudi and in Somalia.  Their source of wealth is oil based.  The young Osama bin Laden was influenced by a Mulsim Cleric who put forward a radical and extreme idea as to the supremacy of Islam and the destruction of the "west" (their words not mine!)  Yet again we see that the money funding Al Qaeda stems from the wealth of oil - either directly or indirectly.  The CIA and America made the very tough decision of backing the Mujahadine in Afghanistan during the Russian invasion.  Make no mistake of this - they were tough fighters even then - any history of occupation in Afghanistan shows you this even as far back as the Mongul Empire.  It was from this background that Osama bin Laden got his further education.

Osama is a figure head.  Al Qaeda will not disapear because he has been killed, its like trying to kill the Hydra - it will just grow another head.

We can all hold to certain things that are definately not certain.  In order to cover up the whole 9/11 thing and for it to have been a conspiracy from the inside would have taken far more resources than the administration could have handled.  Much of this comes from one particular loony left wing professor who was frankly boxing at shadows with the whole "video tape" evidence of the colapse of the two towers.  It has been refuted by construction experts the world over as preposterous that charges were set on all the levels to bring down the towers.  As a building of that size collapses it pushes a massive shock wave down through the rest of the structure and that is what is shown on the tape as the weight of the building basicaly folds in on itself.  This was used as an excuse to point the finger at the Bush administration from a very fringe member of left wing opposition.

Im with you on several things here - I dont trust politicians and I dont take all Im told at face value.  I researched the conspiracy theory because it concerned me that such a thing might be true, like the very worrying idea that a government would assassinate its own president ( Kennedy) and then go on to eradicate his brothers.  The last one is still alive because he stopped being a threat after Chapaquidick Bridge.  My conclusion that while the event would be a major politcial football, my knowledge of such attacks and the history behind political and religious motivated terrorism pointed clearly to an outside attack directed at the heart of the social and ecomomic centre of the US.  It was a stroke of planned genious very similar to that of the attack on Pearl Harbour (you'll be telling me next that this was an inside job done by the US intelligence services all dressed as Japanese Navy Pilots and that the planes were all American painted to look like enemy bombers and that they actually all came from the USS Enterprise who's carrier group was conspicuously absent during the attack.....)  ;)

Evil Seeds of the Taliban set by the CIA?  Eh!?  - The Taliban have been around a lot longer than the CIA as has the rule of Sharia law.  Ok - I will give you that training the fighters in Afghanistan against the Russians was an extremely short sighted move - it allowed a level of sophistication to enter that arena that had never been known to them before and yes it "bit them in the @ss" with 9/11 - but that doesnt mean that 9/11 was an inside job.

Sadam Hussien:  Supported by the US after his takeover of Iraq.  They backed off from him when he went to war with Iran after the fall of the Shah and the takeover by Ayatollah Khomeini.  (want a good conspiracy theory:  Adman Kashogi supplied weapons and ammunition to BOTH sides in the war...)  Sadam Hussien is the classic example of a guard dog that turned and bit its handler.  Nothing more simple than that.

WMD?  - they exist.  He was planning to develop them and they have found stashes of Biological and Chemical weapons in the desert. Not huge or on the scale that the "sexed up" intelligene reports had us believeing.  He had plans to develop a nuclear arsenal.  Ok so we didnt find missile silos and the whole 4 minute countdown thing was a red herring, but this man was exterminating his own people and commititng acts of genocide on the same level as the Nazis and Pol Pot's "Year Zero".   What I personaly cannot agree with is the fact that despite every excuse and plausible reason to go to war with Sadam Hussien and remove him from power was that there were those within the International Intelligence community who felt it was necessary to dupe their own governments into going to war on a very thin excuse.  Afghanistan? Definately a necessity - the eradication of training camps and the removal of the Taliban.  Iraq? - could have waited.  If all the resources had been pointed towards Afghanistan as it was early in the conflict, it would pretty much be handled by now.  Fighting a war on two fronts is not a good idea.

I could go on at great length but will agree to disagree with you on much of what you hold to be fundamentaly true.  Just check under your bed for any hiding terrorists before you switch off your light at night....! Good luck - you might need it.

To the election: Well - we can but watch and see what this man will do.  Hang on to your wallets America cos they are going to be even lighter than they are now.  I wait with trepidation as to what sort of exit strategy they will impose on the armed forces and the resulting debacle as they scramble to abandon those who trusted in their support only to be massacred by  their opposition the minute that the Coalition forces leave Iraq and Afghanistan.  Lets hope we dont see pictures like the departure from Vietnam....(there is another conspiracy theory to get your teeth into.)  It worries me that the US will start to adopt a more insular and consiliatory approach to its foriegn policy..

Im off to buy a disused missile silo in Nevada to go hide in for a bit......

The people of USA choiced.

I could write a book about what I think about Politics, lobbies etc... in all countries, but I am sure you are not interested in.

In short words I agree those that think that the Election campaigns (in all countries, not only in USA) are just marketing and lobbies fight.

But in my opinion the victory of Obama is one step beyond in the USA history. One afroamerican is the president and this is very important. Only this fact is important in my opinion, the rest is the same SHOW, and Obama wont change anything because he cant.

Nobody inside the system can change it in these times
