I use my sniper wa1 because of one thing... to beat the other player

. The only way i find really ( unless your ent ) is to beat a sniper, you have to use a sniper. But i do have my conq with the annis And the tiz to help me get better at brawling so i can beat snipers using it.
So i like to use them both. The wa1 for some easy kills if you hit the target. But i also like to use my conq to slowly kill them and give my self a challenge to beat them and come out on top against the odds like const said.
See you in space.

i voted for..... Brawling with fast refire rates such as ANNIHILATORS
when i started here on void a nice old pirate named raistlin took me to one side and told me how to set up my ship to fight...
when the new mod was released i changed to try the new setups "using an eagle....being a sniper etc" but now im back to flying my conq and shooting my anni's
i may not win every fight but i do enough damage back

I'm still on a pretty steep learning curve so I wonder how much my opinion counts. But:
I like my brawler set up anni's and missiles for two reasons: Since aiming is still my weakest strength (?) it helps me to track a target. Unfortunately, with the fast pace of a pvp with a better opponent - and about 1/2 are - I don't get a lot of time to "track" before the hit window closes on any given pass. I'm working on circling techniques and they are helping to get more time to get on target. Using missiles in brawling has helped me in many areas, mainly in working out maneuver techniques and angles for "tossing" the things without getting sprayed in the face. Plus, if I land one or two it does significant damage and if not, it has the effect of keeping the opponent off balance a little in order to dodge them.
But I have a sniper set too and it's my experiment. I want to learn it, how to know where to hit the target the first time. That's my goal: be able to hit consistently with a sniper set. Then, theoretically, I will be able to hit with anything. I use, believe it or not, a Disco for that... very maneuverable and fast, and maybe I won't win a lot in it but I will learn to "stick and move" in it.
Bottom line: I brawl simply because I have better success with it. I snipe because it's a good learning tool. lacking any real lessons, I am learning on my own. Seems to me that's the best way to learn anyway... develop your own style.

1x screamer
2-3x nomad lasers
the rest annihilators
Well-balanced setup for all targets in Sirius, for all situations.

I have an Anubis currently and have tinkered around with the "1 screamer, 7 laser" setup. Although I'm no ace, I scored more consecutive kills with the this Fisher-Price Void Domination Setup than with my typical brawler setup. It does indeed seem easier to kill with a sniper setup. 1 salvo - no shield, 2-3 salvos - cloud of expanding irradescent gas where your opponent was.
I wouldn't lose any sleep if the Design Team decided to tone down the nomad laser's projectile speed to 1000 m/s in the next mod. When the infamous Armageddon got adjusted, I kind of saw the nomie laser boom coming, as I'm sure many others did.
Be that as it may, I personally have more fun with my current setup: 6 vulcs and 2 tizes. It is more of a challenge to take on the Anubis/Conq snipers, but more satisfying if I win. The challenge, of course, is to keep a steady stream of fire on your target, as the damage inflicted by an individual beam is paltry. DTA Venom and I had a very good fight last night which bolstered my confidence in my brawler setup.
I believe the brawler setup has a distinct advantage over smaller ships or more maneuverable ships. I can track Hammerheads, WA1s and Discoverers and such much easier with my current setup. Slap on a Ripper minedropper and a Wasp cd and you're ready to rumble. Rippers are especially effective againsts Hammerheads - over 3900 pts of hull-shredding damage. That's about 900 pts more than the nomad mine. So if you see a reddish, pulsating dot approaching your cockpit window, you might want to go evasive.
I can't say I blame Ent for his decision to regen vs. snipers, particularily if he has a brawler setup. I've flown against 2-3 snipers in Anubises and I count myself lucky if even dented their hulls. I usually get handed my tush in about 7 secs in those kind of tussles. But if they're sniping in lighter ships, that's an interesting fight you've on your hands.
Just my 2 cents.

I can aim thats not it.
I had a sniper setup that takes down a anubis in one shot. Yes you heard it one shot -> with shield.
But brawling is much cooler. There is allot more lights and effect.
I had a perfect bralwing ship -> for me that is, everyone is diferent.
Viper.
2 Krakens lvl8.
2 Tizona's lvl9.
2 Nomad Cannonbals lvl10.
2 Annihalators turrets lvl10.
It was unstoppeble i'fe you keep your head cool.
I'm now try'ing a Spartan with the same idea for he weps.
I know you all havn't seen me in day's because i had Christmes with my parents.
But every now an than i play'd in a undercover char. so that pirates wouldn't desturb my training and testing.
But i can tell ya that the spartan still has it's capebility. It isn't as fast but it's still hard to hit.
And the other reason for my absents is that i was trying on world of warcraft.
I know.
But i don't see what all the fuss is about The game has almost no freedom because i'fe you want to lvl up you need to follow the game line.
And it's sertan that Freelancer is way betther.
But back to the topic.
Bralwing is my chois because i like the effect.
I can win with both. And loos with both

Fav setup:
Viper
2x Quakes
4x Vulcan Mk. III
2x Screamer Turret
CD
Starkiller Torp. Launcher
Shield and Acessories :
Advanced Barrier Shield (About 9k shield with robot-like regeneration rate) - Thanks Inf

Regen Enhancer (Viper has enough energy of its own with this setup)
Advanced or Robot Thruster
This setup did wonders when i could still aim
