What's Happening in the World of Wolf...

Depending on your point of view, it may or may not be alarming...

After several weeks of discomfort in my chest I decided to see my doctor. He recommended a cardio-vascular stress test to determine if there's any reason to be concerned.

Turns out there is.

Seems I have heart problems.Tomorrow I go in for an Angiogram and very possibly an Angioplasty. First thing I thought was "Oh Crap!" Then it was "But I'm only 51!" Surprise. I'm in the prime risk category.

Talk about something that puts everything into perspective.

You might think it's alarming but in my way of seeing it, this is a far better way to find out than after a heart attack.

I have no idea what to expect, but if it happens that I'm not around as much as usual you'll know the reason why. However I'm bringing my laptop to the hospital so you'll not be rid of me all that easily.  :P

Frankly, I'm a bit unnerved. I'm told this is now a common procedure. That might be true but I don't think it's all that common for me. So I hope you'll pardon my putting this here in the forums. But I feel you are my friends and who else can you dump on but your friends.

So that's what's happening in the World of Wolf.

Thanks for listening.

I have a coworker, who had undergone an angioplasty in her early fifties. It went smoothly and now rare is the day that anything manages to slow her down. Take heart Watchwolf (pardon the awful pun) ;)

You're in my prayers. Get some rest and exercise some healthy introspection.

And for something completely diffterent. I think your handle Watchwolf could be translated into Finnish as Vahtihukka. I don't know about you, but Vahtihukka definitely has moxy.  I'll have to run this by on Elessar sometime for confirmation :-? .

Had all the pre-op stuff this afternoon. At least I have an idea what's going on now. They did an xray and verified I indeed have a heart. (So much for Vengeance being heartless..  :P  ) I got poked and prodded and wired and tagged. Then I basically signed my next three generations of offspring into servitude. At least that's what they told me. I said, you have no idea what you're getting yourself into, you haven't met my grandkids...

They make it sound like it's about as routine as changing a tire. Well maybe but it's a little more exciting to me than that. I liken it to changing a tire in the center lane of the Autobahn. As I thought, they'll do the balloon or stint if necessary at the same time as they're poking around in there to avoid going in twice. But, and get this, it's a 1 day in the hospital thing if they do. Otherwise I go home tomorrow evening if they don't.

They said I can watch if I want to, watch the monitor and see what the little camera sees as it's winding its way through my pipes. They say it's pretty cool. I'm not so sure about that. Watchwolf might belie his name and be as happy to nap through it.

Thanks for all your thoughts. 'Specially my first mate and wingman, PV. But I'm not ready to eject the escape pod just yet. I'll be in-game to kill as many of you as I can this evening  :D  ... if the cranky old server comes back on-line. Someone must have told it there's a new kid in town.....  ;)

Hi Bro hope you are well in your self and I really sympathise with what you are going through at the moment. About 2 months ago  now I suffered a massive DVT in my right leg (Blood Clot) it is very strange to wake up in the morning with one leg and foot three times the size of the other. So off to the Hospital I went, one doctor would not even touch me in case the clot moved which could result in a pulmonary embolism which would take about two mins to kill me on the spot , they said they could perform a very dangerous procedure which  gave the same chances as not performing it at all so I went for the latter and after 5 hours of tests came home. So now I just live from day to day hoping that the thing doesn’t break off.
No booze no salt no lots of things I really enjoyed and blood thinners for the rest of my life. So keep your chin up Bro because you could also get run over by a bus on the way home.
