Player V Player

These are not rules for PVP combat, just some observations that may help some players, learn PVP.

1. Any player over lvl 20 can be attacked, depending on  clan rules, or personal belief this may be higher.

2. Players do not need to announce to you that they intend to attack. the Shoot first comment later policy is used by many pirates, rogues, and some clans

3. Gang attacks, you can be attacked by multiple players at one time, again some pirates and navy clans attack in force to surpress an enemy. Rogues tend to attack everyone.

4. Regen, the use of nanobots and shield batteries is not illegal, but frowned upon, by some players. Players who regen in battle against opponants tend to be attacked in force (from my own experience)

5. Players who complain in system chat about being attacked. This is not illegal, it is asked that comments be rated G in nature. Althogh, (through my personal experience) When people complain about being killed by a player, that player tends to target the complainer again.

6. Good Fight (GF), this is just plain old polite, if you enter into combat win or lose, you should give the GF.

7. Ships are harder to hit when they are moving. a sitting ship is an easy target, need I say more

8. Tag or un Tagged Players do not need to be tagged as a pirate or rogue to attack you, this falls back to point #2

9. Never target ADMIN or VOID tagged players, these are server personell.

10. lastly I want everyone to remember that this is a game.

I hope these opservations help some people out who are confused about PVP in the VOID.

the comments listed are my opinion, and not ment to offend or differ from server rules, if there is a discrepancy please PM me so I can correct my list

Words of wisdom mate. If more players would think like this, the server would be a pvp heaven.  :)

man if this where only put into the server messages!!  :D

i cant count the number of times i hear "WHY ?" ... "Your NOT Tagged!"... "get a R in your name"... "im helping a recruit"... ect.ect.ect.

i just SS the complaints....and usually text a "lol" back to them or in sys. chat...

more people need to understand this...

and yes , i have put a R on , and i killed over 100 players before anyone decided to do anything about it.....so it pointless in my eyes to use R -- PLUS , it just gives people a chance to flee the system, quit or reload a new char.. when they are checking the chat screen and see a R in your name !!

Space is a dangerous place! ;)

Thanks for the reminder on point 7  :D

Well thought out and handled mate. Like Ward said, I even suspect that there are those that dont read the intro message when they log in....As they say in the real world:

Ignorance of the Law is no excuse...!  :D Please be aware that if you ambush someone and they regen - dont get shirty with them - you pulled the first punch...! If they turn and flee - fair enough - if they turn and fight then they should consider not using the regen - again, if they do dont give them a hard time for it cos its not against the rules. A head to head PvP should be regen free.

Love the point on GF - it is just polite and it doesnt cost anything to say so even if you dont realy mean it - saves a lot of grief in the long run...

Well done -  =D>

Good points in the first post. Worthy of memorization and application. However, there are two points I somewhat question - gf'ing and the R-tag.

If I'm docking or just otherwise ambushed and I have'nt so much as fired a shot, chances are I won't be sending a gf. The reason being, that it wasn't much of a fight, more like a "good ambush". The opposing pilot got his frag, nor do I feel terribly obligated to exchange hollow pleasantries with him. The same thing applies with me, when I'm flying in a clan char. If someone is trying to land on a nomad base and I zap him as his ship is locked in a docking pattern, I don't expect a gf.

I don't know how much support this next idea has, but I really believe that if someone wants to play as a rogue, they should wear the R with pride. If they want to turn it up a notch, they should get themselves a real rogue rep, i.e. red with the good guy npcs. I don't believe most have, because its much more difficult to kill other players with, say,  5 robot npcs lighting you up just out of princple. Believe me, I know.

Another thing which might be helpful to emphasize in gameplay is the concept of silence. In other words, avoid being baited by the mentally and socially challenged. The next time some mouth-breather offers his commentary on your skill or lack  thereof, just give him icey silence. No messages in the green, none in system, just silence. Ignore him or jump back out and let your guns do the talking. Don't give him the impression that you're ticked off, because his kind of hobgoblin lives for that.

Peace, out.

Players who indescriminently kill, with no warning etc. for no reason, should accept what vebal they get and live with it.

Not all players have played MPa great deal, so getting killed for no reason is bound to annoy/upset them.
