Bots/Bats Balance -- discussion

OK , i have been thinking of some balance issues with bats and bots...
what do you all think of changing the ammount of bots/bats used in ships ?
To me its kinda backwards the ammount of bots/bats we have in certain ships..
I think all bats/bots should be reversed ...
A starter ship should carry the most bots/bats than any other ship , and as you work your way up to a better ship the number of bats/bots you can carry gets less..
So , when you have the BEST Ship , you should only have about 20 bots/bats.
Reason for this is the challenge , If you have the BEST ship you should be able to fly and protect yourself better , hence the need for less bots/bats.
What you all think ?

Disagree, good pilots will not regen anyway, they 'll pvp you without bats/bots,
And I 'm sure that not all players want challenge with you, especially one who are just starting. Maybe they have anubis or some good ship but, why should you take their protection away? So that you can kill them easier? With your annihilators there is not possible way to run from you, with 20/20 bots/bats. Keep the things they are, and enjoy the void like it is.

You think that NPCs missions are getting boring?
You don't like regeners of any kind?
You wish more challenge when you're travelling around dangerous systems/sectors?
Then join us in a new cause! Let us ERADICATE all nans and bots from fighters ships (only freighters are allowed to carry them)!

I use nanos and bats just in missions, and if missions are harder in next mod I would like to have enough. Challenge for me is pvping not npc kills.
I need credits, I need missions and if missions are harder then I need enough nanos and bats, simple

Well I sell all my nans and bots before I do any mission, then I came back full of nans and bats from npcs loot and i sell them again. It's cash on the box.
Speaking for myself, I don't need nans and bots when doing missions (against nommies or bounty hunters 800k up) and I'm doing them with my viper. So.. nans and bots it's for those who really cant fight that well, simple.

What I personly would prefer to see is npc's regening. If we can then why shouldn't they? I noticed that there sheilds already restore by themselves. It could be wrote that they regen at points but if you kill them before then, then they would spill the bats and bots not used. That would be more fun and more of a challenge. Bots and bats would be harder to get out of a fight. Npc's would take more time and skill to defeate. See, I know that the npc's ingame are way to easy. Even if you limit the amount of bats and bots in my anubis mk2, they would still be to easy.
BTW, Just an opinion but, I think the best pvp battles to be had are when people agree to regen. Imagine a fight to the death using bats and bots. That means a longer, more frantic battle. It wouldn't be a case of seeing who can torp the other first on a buzz past. You would have to work at it harder and think about it more.
Does that not sound like more of a challenge?
Think of the clan vs clan pvp melees you see around. People get fraged, respawn and rejoin. Now, if all they had were there bats and bots. Once they run out and/or are fraged, they can't rejoin. That eventualy gives an absolute winner of the battle instead of one of these melee's where you only stop once everybody gets fedup. You could even keep a legue table of clan battles and/or pvp battles.
Dont get me wrong syth, I agree that something needs to be done and why it's needed. I just think that what I sudgest would be a more interesting way to do things. A couple of small adjustments to the mod and bats n bots stop being the porblem. They become the solution.

Personally, I disagree. Mainly because not everyone that plays is an excellent PvPer. NPC's do regenerate and rapidly too. Think back to the lower levels of the game when you fist did a mission in your basic ships against the Liberty Rogues. On the single player game it was a piece of cake after a bit of practice - when you tried it on the Void it was like trying to catch a bar of soap the way NPC's moved and regenerated. I feel that the level of Bots and Bats on all vessels is sufficient and does not need altering in anyway.
As to using Bots and Bats under any other circumstances? Well you need to reaquaint yourselves with the server rules. REGENING is NOT against the RULES. Be very aware that persistant use of the word "regener" as way of insulting a player will see you BANNED! (by me at any rate). The rules of engagement are very clear. The Non Regeneration "unspoken rule" had grown out of an understanding between players that are experienced PvPers that use of such will prolong combat beyond a reasonable time. As a rule I wont deliberately regenerate during combat in a PvP situation. It is faintly ridiculous to have one inexperienced player who is set upon by a vastly superior player and have that so called superior player whinge like a spoilt brat when the inexperienced player, either through panic or a wish to escape, utilises his ability to regenerate.
These are the circumstances under which I WILL regenerate.
1. Carrying a Cargo that was hard bought and dragged a long way through space - especially when in the process of docking and in order to escape my assailant - I WILL REGENERATE.
2. If I am solitary and I am pursued by greater numbers, in order to effect my escape - I WILL REGENERATE.
3. If ambushed and without notification, should I decide not to engage or at least effect a tactical withdrawl - I WILL REGENERATE.
4. After a PvP session and before re-engaging another target - I WILL REGENERATE.
These are the circumstances under which I will avoid regeneration.
1. An agreed PvP.
2. A Melee involving multiple players - a Free For All and something that I have willingly decided to participate in (see points 2 & 3 in the previous section)
3. If I ambush another player without notice - this gives them the option to either regenerate and run or regenerate and turn - Once combat has been joined it is up to the attacked player whether they choose to regenerate or not. If they dont - I dont. If they do - I may do, depending on the circumstances.
This is a PERSONAL approach to the rules on the VOID and nothing more. There have been circumstances under which, in my panic and given my poor PvP ability I have pressed the wrong buttons - we are not all infalible and mistakes and errors happen. The important thing is to put your hands up to it an apologise should you feel that it is necessary to do so, given the rather sharp reactions from other players when such things occur.
So - I have to go with Serpentine on this issue - if it aint broken dont fix it......

one thing i disagree with about that is the higher the shield or armor, the more bots/bats you need to regen it

My two B & B exceptions:
If I'm fighting an equally skilled player that uses them first, or,
Lvl 42 or higher missions where I'm sloppy. The Nomies don't scream 'regener' at me, and tractoring in all that Lag Fodder sure helps. Sorry Kosmiker, I even let myself down on occasion. If I was Catholic, I'd tell the preist at confession.

When PvP or fighting a battle then I sell all boots and bats if I have them
and using only boots and bats when I am on mission 700k+ (well sometimes i forget to buy them but nomies have them only thing you must kill them to take them

)
So my point is for low levl it would be nice to increase it and for "high" levl players with "good" ships leave as it is
and all are happy
