Freelancer - The Void

Last times when I see forum and I find a post that I would like to reply I cant. The reason is that the post is locked. The process is next:

One player post a thought about manners, RP, war, etc..
others players start to reply
then in 3 or 4 replies start the spam, flame, insults etc..
finally Admin or clan moderator lock post.

So the opinion of many players cant be posted. And the post is not usefull (90% are not including mines )

Most of them are about manners in game, conflicts in game, RP violations etc..

My conclusion is that 99% of the flames, spamm and bad manners are a consecuence af the very low level of matutrity of some of the players. And of course game and forum are very linked

So this forum only works when ppls talk about weather, family, technical issues, new mod... but not when we talk about playing game.  

I would try to be more fast checking posts in order to get a chance to reply some of them

sometimes topics have no real point and if u missed a topic theirs not much u cna do. admins/voids only lock topics if they have a reason to. these reasons are to save our fun being disturbed by text wars. not much u cna do, askign them not to lock it is askign them not to do what their here to do. sry m8 , dont think theirs a solution to this one.

Ghosty is right here,there is not much of a solution here,when u are drunk in the spirit of the game and starting believing this is "real",or drown in it,ur emotions betray u and all reason is lost.

Been a long time since I posted here...
Guess this is a subject I´m a bit passionate about.
In the past I´ve been quite vocal about some of forum moderating around here.
Granted, those were different times, with different, bigger issues, but even today I find many topics who are locked before I get a chance to reply, and I still lurk in these forums quite frequently.

The thing is, most of these topics are locked because of a very small minority of posters, who don´t really know how to behave in a forum, and always drag the thread  (no matter what the topic is) down to a flame/spam/moan affair, leading to the locking of said thread, someitmes abruptly ending what could be a good discussion.

I wonder how difficult it would be to implement a warning and ban system in these forums. Flamers/Spammers, would have a warning level (like in ohter forums), that would raise acording to their misbehaviours, and eventually they would get a temporary ban from the forums.
I think this would greatly reduce the number of locked threads and healthy discussions gone rotten, and in time I believe it would actually reduce the moderators work load, since ppl would have to start to behave....

Just to clarify (maybe my english is not good enough). I didnt talk about if posts should be locked or not. I am not judging the admin work, and I think those posts were locked with good reasons.

Please read the post again and you could see what I am trying to say. Kat got it and he has a proposition, maybe you agree maybe not but this is about maturty, capacity af players to have a civilizated way to comunicate themselves, respect, and many more things

Well...  Good to see JK and his wise insight in the forums again..

If people don't grow up a bit and start showing a bit of respect, we will simply remove their ability to post here.  Yes, we can do that.
