Anyone who wants to know why I want to leave this place, just read this garbage. Not just this thread, this is just one example:

There's a festering open wound that threatens the very heart of the Void.  Can it really be that no one really cares to do anything about it?

For some reason, there's a been wall built protecting the destructive crap and those who sling it, as if it's some sort of sacred right, some icon that no one want to disturb, as if it not only has a right to be there but that it's wanted, or even needed.

This is your server, people. If this is the direction you want your server to go, then do nothing. Left alone it will find it's inevitable way to the same end that awaits any body with such a wound. If not, tear down the protective wall and take your Void back. Or is this what you all had in mind when you put your hard earned $ into to get the server and make sure the Void would not die out?

Those who don't care will do nothing.

Those who do will try and wonder why their efforts come to no end.

Those who care enough will keep trying until they feel like they just can't do any more. Then one of two things will happen:

They'll learn to not care any more.

Or they'll get tired and leave.

I for one am tired of banging my head against the bloody wall.

u got a really good point but then u got the players that delibrately get in their and build that wall up.

u forgot the people that will try and will seceed but at the begining their is a lack of ideas on how we can tackle 'The Wall' .

I understand mate,the only thing i want to say here is quote Rudyard Kipling-

We loose ourselves understanbly like humans but even we humans have our limits of making mistakes.

I hope all this nonsense vanishes away like some nightmare.If we consider the above posts like something that is dark and gloomy causing great despair like the deathly cold winter,then what P.B.Shelley said-

"If winter comes then can spring be far behind?"
makes sense.

While right now this might be depressing but then Void has gone through this before{and will go again in the future :-< },i await for those wonderful times in Void that makes going through all this worth it.

My sympathies are as always with the Wolf and I too have come close to jacking this in because of a couple of players and their continuous BS.  The easiest way to solve the flaming and the spamming along with some of the most arrogant rubbish I have ever had the displeasure of reading is to make an example of those that do this and ban them.  I dont care how big their clans are or who they are or where they live - if you cant keep a civil tongue in your head and be mindful (in the forums ) of information that is very likely to be considered offensive then you should be banned permanently - Personally I will BAN DeDa for that post as no PUBLIC appology was posted (DONT BOTHER POSTING ONE NOW - its too late). It was sick and it was wrong. Cut that cr@p out RIGHT NOW.  

I have a list.  Its not a very long one - but if this kind of CR@P continues then I shall start taking lives and banning your sorry hides for the shameless way that you have responded to what is in essence an RP post  - to become so angry over what is after all a WAR GAME in which propaganda will be posted, is RIDICULOUS  - go have a beer and play Tetris for a while.  I have been off playing KILLZONE just to get away from the trash that is being thrown around here.  You complain like old women about the post that COBRA made  - sure it very well may not be true, but thats his take on what happened. For it to decend into a Forum War of Words and in such a pathetic manner is SHAMEFUL !

You have a right to post your oppinion - BUT decending into a flame fest is a juvenille and pathetic waste of brain power.  If you cannot conduct yourselves with at least the very basics of polite language then dont bother posting. If you post something constructive and meaningful in response to a criticism or statement that you believe to be untrue - then respond in an APPROPRIATE manner and dont get all BENT OUT OF SHAPE about it.

Believe me I am close to getting out ZEBS BIG BAN STICK and I will start banging heads together starting with those that would suggest that I have abused my authority in anyway.  If I start a clean up you better believe that it will be thorough and I will run this campaign purely on the premise that if ANYONE answers back at anything the ADMINS do or say they will be TOAST.  I will start with those that feel they can post whatever the hell they like here.  Then I will work on to the players that spam the System Chat channel during PvP and combat with automated "victory" messages.  Then I will start on those who feel they can answer back.  Then I will work through my list of suspected cheaters.  By the time I am finished this will be a fantastic place to play because the people left will actually APPRECIATE what they have here and not play silly beggars with the VOID that has taken a small group of people a great deal of time to make.  I am ANGRY that my best buddy on here has chosen to leave - he is one of the prize members of my team and I am P*SSED off at all of the BS that has caused this - so dont cross me  - ANY OF YOU - cos I will ban you at the drop of a hat.

Wind in this BS or start watching the bodies pilling up.  I recieved a PM from one of the ADMIN team who said that the VOID guardians were doing a fantastic job and making sure that under difficult circumstances this place ran relatively smoothly - I was given the "thumbs up" to hammer miscreants  - I will do it and do it thoroughly and with very little reason.

I feel that my good nature has been abused here and that my "head count" of bans has been taken as a sign of weakness.
SO - BE WARNED - cut out the rubbish - cos the Day of Judgement is coming and I will sweep through this place like the Angel of Death - Mercy will be in short supply.

I've been here at void for about a month and I don't understand whats wrong- whats wrong with forum flame wars? This is an alternative reality where we get to role play into different characters. So long as people don't get offensive or racist or abusive, I don't care if people post bs or propoganda or whatever rubbish here.

The more word war goes on here, the more spicy it gets ingame. I play this game for fun in the evenings with a bottle of becks for relaxation and enjoyment. It is not my job- I play for fun!!

This community is very 'us and them' and that can work just fine. In fact, it means we get to kill more things ingame which, I think, is the point in an rpg wargame. Even better, we kill things in teams. Now this is aided by what goes on in the forums. If ESF want to post ss of killing triad- fine, its fun to see them . If cobra wants to post a contraversial topic about owning esf, then I'm cool with that. You reacted by telling him he was a bs liar and thats now put diplomatic links down the potty for you guys- its part of the game, don't take it to heart. Remember the KEY WORD- FUN (I'm going all gay :P). If you can't have fun here, then you should be banned because it is those who take it too seriously who take things to heart and start getting annoyed at the game. IMHO, if you are bored with this, I don't blame you. I know some of you, like me, have been playing this game for several years- so find a new game, a new source of fun. Come back when you're ready for more.

I hope you understand where I'm coming from. For a new player to the void, it doesn't feel that bad. I'm in a good clan with fun people and am thoroughly enjoying the void at the moment- both the people I play with and the people I play against. I found it hilarious that ESF posted on their forum me saying 'I'm wolfi murrah w00f' under 'SYNDICATE moans'. It made my evening, and was no reason to start a flame war. Perhaps we should take things more in good humour?

Good humour is one thing - bad posting is another.  Remember no one can "hear" the tone that you write things in - so if it is only meant in FUN then say so - or if it is PURELY RP - then label it as such - start it off with "RP" and finish it with "RP end" so that people dont make the mistake of getting all bent out of shape about personal attacks.  There is much that is posted here that makes me laugh out loud because I understand the spirit it is given in.  Unfortunately there are those who abuse this and post blatantly offensive material and comments about other clans and other players.  It becomes tiresome and you have to remember that there are people who are considered "minors" reading this stuff.  

The server and forum rules are perfectly clear on that sort of stuff.  You want to have a dig at a clan or make a comment in RP about what they do - no problem - as long as there is some intelligence behind it with a touch of humour.  FFS we were called "Beavers" by the TRIAD tribe - retaliate? No I dont think so - but when someone comes on chat and says "your clan is cr@p and your players are cr@p too" thats not funny (Im only using this as an example - but believe me similar things have been said about a whole variety of clans) Thats when it stops being fun.  I understand what you are saying and I believe that is what COBRA started to do by posting about his 7 to 1 ratio of kills during his battle with ORION.  Shame it couldnt be taken that way and received some abuse rather than a thoughtful and witty reply, but then maybe if he had marked it up as RP it might have been different. As it was it just caused garbage and that is where it starts to decline into tiresome hounding of other clans.

Maybe we should think about how to improve the forum, and not talk about how some players flamming, spaming, insulting in forum

If I'm honest, zebulon- I tend to only read the first page or so of a flame war. I like to think its fun for the people involved. I don't have time to waste on reading garbage and I would rather play the game. If people have time to waste making themselves out to look like immature kids, thats fine by me- perhaps we should let them argue?

In fact, the first thing I read which advertised me to void was a forum flame war and it actually advertised the server to me as a healthy enthusaistic active server with a rich community.

Now I'm not condoning insults- these should always be dealt with by a ban- I would lean more towards temp but I'm no admin so I'll leave this to you. But childish flame wars- why not? For some people, void is the only place they can be a child nowadays so let em. Good way to let out some steam.


Now watchwolf said we had a 'festering open wound' in void. I care enough about void to want to ensure things go good so watchwolf, lets make this constructive and more obv for us newcomers. Can you answer the following questions to help us n00bs understand how void is dying so dramatically:

- What was void like compared to how it is now
- What can players do out of game to make prepare the surgery to fix that wound
- What can we do in game to start operating on that wound

Hmmmm strange... the whole flame thing is gone mad nowdays. 1 post about victory other start to complain open a new post and the last poster start to flame there now, then start with SSes and videos and other BS. Iam here more then 1 yrs ago and the void never was like that mad like now. Its not cause of the admins or voids or any1 else, its cause of the players.
I tried out other servers and the same things are going on other servers too, but its not that mad like here.
I know i have bad habits in game and on forum too, cause -long story short- iam an idiot human who cant control that easily himself and when some1 edit my post that makes me angry and ofcourse i start to complain or insult or call it what ever u want. Peeps start topics what hurts the others (enemies feelings) and they know this, they know there topic is gona be in flames within a few hours. Some peeps are enjoy this for some reason.
As Ybot said this is a game, if some1 can only flame up every1 leave and let us play the game or stay and dont be surprised if u get ganged by a few non-sick peeps  ;)

@ Zeb: Clans are always get attacked by words like u mentioned, but what usually we do if we hear something like that is the next: DESTROYING THE MONAER  ;) (usually works lmao)

I started to not even visit the voidforum cause i dont have spare energy to answer or every flames, I better like to help my clan and to have fun with my friends not to read essays about or watch movies or SSes.
Maybe that banning thing might work, cause if its worked on me it can work on everybody  :D

shhh he means robotic android. He had an error and thought he was a human. We're sending him on a training course to straighten out his increasingly truobled chip.

This is the sort of debate that is VERY healthy for the VOID.....! I salute your wit and wisdom.   I have no problem with people "flaming" each other in Role Play - as long as it is clearly marked as such.  Most of us know the difference but some need to have it written on the message for them to understand where it is coming from.  When we speak to each other 90% of communication is visual. Body language and gestures along with tone of voice.  When you post here, only 10% of what you are trying to say comes across, which is why it is important to try and get the description of what you want to say correctly.  Whilst I have a good command of  English, it is far from perfect and there have been misunderstandings.  Thanks to both NUKE and Ybot for being able to "get the message".  

When I started here over a year ago there were some brilliant "flames" and witty arguments that would run their course, normaly after they had decended to the personal level and were then locked by staff.  On the whole most clans fought using the traditional "invite to PvP" method. This changed as some Rogues decided to expand the whole RP of their tags and people started getting fragged without the "invite".  Soon they were all at it and boy did it liven things up here for a bit.  Sadly not everyone bought into the change in RP.  There was a downward spiral for a while and the result was that some experienced players who should have known better got into an argument with the Server Staff and,as clans, they were banned.  Others chose to leave having felt that the VOID had run its course for them.

The VOID survived against many expectations that it would fail with the departure of these players.  Some were asked back in different roles and under different guises.  Things have settled down a bit as we await the next generation of the VOID to come.

I think there has been an increase in Word Wars here and it is caused either deliberately in order to get a rise out of someone OR it is the result of a misunderstanding.   VOID Guardians are not here as spectators and "wallpaper". They are here to police the VOID.  We give up our "play time" to do this and we rely on the other members of our respective clans to keep the RP going whilst we are busy.  I have not been as active in this role as much as I would like, but with the sad departure of WatchWolf there is a gap that needs filling.  I need to step up to the plate and enter the game.  This is not going to be liked by those that have gotten away with so much for so long.  Many VOIDS are wary of banning people due to the backlash that follows.  I for one am not afraid of this.  I will make a decision.  If you choose to respond in an inappropriate manner then you will follow the player that was banned - you are siding with them therefore you condone his/her behavior so you will suffer the same punishment.  It can start with a kick as a warning.  Then you will recieve the standard 7 day ban. If it continues the ban will be longer if not permanent.  If I decided to ban you immediately then your behavoir probably deserves it.  We can sort that out through the right channels and not through pointless green message flames.  

This is a healthy place with some issues that will not change.  Dealing with these issues is the VOID and ADMINS task.
