RP- [X] and [R] in one tag

Hello fellow Voidians

I was thinking about mixed RP tags contained in one nick for example [R]Nick[X].
Sometimes we all can see chars tagged like this one.
Some people are saying there is nothing against rules, but for me it's against true roleplaying. Guys who own these chars asked ADMINS about it, well they said it's ok.

But lets aim on it, I just want to see your opinions about it. Here is my opinion:

Someone has R and X together in one nick.. that means he is rogue but pirate also.
Well, there is writen: only pirates [X] CAN tax, rogue [R] CAN NOT tax. In another style said.. pirates are there for taxing traders and freelancers as first.. they don't want to kill without warning, of course if taxed pilots won't pay pirate can kill them. They are here for earning some money and attacking navy. Rogues..it's simply RP, kill everything with no questions, no warnings. They don't care about money, they want  victims.

Ok now here's my point: the guy with R and X in tag kills someone without warning..acting like rogue BUT he is pirate also!... pirates should not kill without asking for tax as first.. or second cause.... that guy tax someone because he has X in tag, BUT he is rogue also!.. and there is writen rogues can't tax..

So my opinion is these 2 roleplays are different from themselves..better said they are not compatibile for being in one nick.

I know..not everyone likes to play RP everytime, not everyone knows what those rp tags mean, I know Void isn't hardcore RP server but I think this is really against true RPing. Doesn't matter if someone knows or doesnt know, wants to play or doesn't want to play such RP's.

Well I tried to explain it as good as I can.. so I hope you understood me.. waiting for your opinions for this lads

Cya in space!

ahh i think it is bad!
think, one trader see one of that peoples [R]name[X]

1° the trader die,
2° the trader lost the cargo
3° the trader have to pay the tax!

you like this?

[R] is Rogue KOS

and

[X] is an pirat he can ask  tax and if one refuse it he can kill

this is good for me :)

I think like berseker , i saw someone with X and R tag and i think it cant be , choose what to be  , a Pirate [X] or a Rogue [R] not both.
Its just like being in two locations at the same time , i am in italy and in spain in the same time , its impossible . So my opinion is that it cant be , and as berseker said , in some way its againts the rules ....

The rules for these tags are well written, thought out, and tested.

The player will not be allowed to mix the two role plays in one character publicly.

Everyone should show this player how you feel with your guns.

For me [X] or [R] mean KOS but i think for new player is confusing.
A trade player pay tax and after that [X]Nick[R] guy kill him anyway becouse [R] tag
yeah i think is not fair

From an RP perspective I would have to agree. Though modern movies have greatly glorified the pirate recently, there is real history behind the archetype.

Pirates (of olden times) generally operated by a code of ethics. Though by our modern standards it may not seem that way, there was a code of ethics there. (It was simply a code of ethics that many of us today would find to be "bad" or "evil")  There were certain actions, for example, that were frowned upon by the pirate community. "Things not to do", or what-have-you. (This was actually a rather lengthy discussion between myself and a friend of mine whom is a big pirate enthusiast.)

Rogues, on the other hand, are precisely that. They are (from what I gather here on the void) free-spirit types who act as their whim dictates, only out in the long run to look after #1.  They may temporarily ally themselves with someone else if they feel it will serve their purposes, but at the first available opportunity will turn on their temporary ally if they find it to be profitable, necessary, or even just plain fun. That's how a rouge should work, right?

Seem to me that people running with both tags are wanting to get the best of both worlds. What you're left looking at is an Oxymoron: Either a Rogue with a code of ethics (laughable!) or a Pirate with no code of ethics (also laughable!)

It seems the same to me as saying "I'm a Democratic Republican!", or "I'm a pro-life abortionist!"  or something equally silly.

When one really considers the implications of the individual titles, one is left only to conclude that, logically, one cannot be both a pirate and a rogue at the same time. It's contradictory, from both a linguistic and logistic point of view.

You hit the nail on the head with this paragraph m8.  Exactly how I conduct myself in my [R] RP..........if you wonder why I do what I do, read this paragraph.

A player has 5 char slots at minimum, if he wants to be an [X] he should create an [X] char, and same for his [R] char.  They can not be one in the same.  [X]s follow a set of rules, [R]s typically don't.

I too concur. A couple of weeks ago I also noticed some one flying with more than one tag, this confused little thing had given him/herself the simple name of [R][H][X]
Can you say split personalitie?
:-??

[X]Nick[R] probably wants to tax first,
then kill after the cash transfer

Nah, that doesn't fit, either [R] or [X],
both in one char leads to confusion

have fun

well to me this is just a few guys(i've seen more than one) bein smart-a**es by lookin for stuff not in the rulesand messin around

if a pirate broke the pirates code of ethics(the one rammy(ramsanator my nickname for him) talked about)he would be keel-hauled and thats what shud happen to these people

dictionary:keel-hauled:a pirate breaking pirate laws would be tied to a rope and hauled under the keel, which had sharp shells sticking to the bottom of it(ouch)

I agree, you should only use one tag not X and R.

Although,I tend to pirate using either method, sometimes I ask for payment and sometimes I attack without warning.  Cant really imagine the pirates of old sailing up to a cargo vessel and politely asking for some money.  Nah, I dont think so.  They would open fire either practically destroying the ship or until the enemy were incapable of fighting back, then they would take everything they could.  Lastly they would escape into the distance before the navy could stop them.

Can anybody answer this one also.  Why should I wait around for the navy to come so that I can pvp them?  The amount of abuse I get because I dont fight against the guys protecting the home systems trade routes.  One guy said that I am supposed to fight "because I'm a pirate".  Kind of defeats the purpose, I fly a Thoth, setup for looting cargo and then getting the hell of the area.  Nearly every other player flys a fighter to pirate but I dont.

Sorry to go off topic slightly but I get abuse everytime I play. :D
