There are 16,023 votes there so far, I heard if we get 19,000 votes, Chris Roberts (Digital Anvil, one of the creators) will make the sequel.
Another thing I have heard is that Mr. Roberts has set up his own studio!
I'm not going to give a FL history lesson out for those who don't know, but DA and MS made the game, MS bought DA, Chris Roberts fell out with them, game got rushed, MS won't make another blah blah blah.....
Tell everyone you know to do it, if you want FL2. Even if you have friends who don't even play, get them to sign, just anyone to sign it! lol :D
You never know, there will probably will never be an FL2, but there is absolutely no harm in trying. Might actually work out. Get signing!

Microsoft will make a decision to make a new game based on 19,000 votes lmfao give me a break.
19,000 buyers x $40 a game (Let's suppose Microsoft makes $40 a game/projected sales price in stores would be around $50 lets suppose) = $760,000 in sales worth in gross sales, but this is not talking about actual net profit. This is gross sales only and the $40 is projected. Take a small team of Microsoft computer programmers who's salaries are in the range of $80,000-$90,000 a year. 19,000 buyers wouldn't even cover the cost to make a game. This maybe big $$$ to you and I, but these figures are mere pennies to Microsoft. Come on people snap back to reality.
You think Microsoft is going to get all worked up because 19,000 people want a game.... don't hold your breath.
You may feel I'm being negative, but I'm stating facts. The truth is the Voidserver is the closest thing we'll ever have to a Freelancer 2 so just enjoy what you have and make the most of it.

everyone i know wants labour to stay in power, none of us voted though.
which means if 19,000 people are willing to go on a website and vote, then the likelihood is many more will truely want a sequel.
also the majority of online freelancers dont even register on the forums, and would never see the vote anyway.
its worth a shot

Chris Roberts can't make FL2 even if he wants to..Microsoft own the IP's that means Chris would have to buy back those IP's to be able to use them, and M$ historically do not sell IP's.
