Re: RP Licenses

Hello all.
Only been back quite recently and I can't say I've fully explored the depths of the new mod yet but one thing did pop into mind with regards to the new licenses.
If I recall back to the time where RP began to die out and where pirates had no real role, I remember plenty of conversation based around the reinforcement of Role Play.
I'm quite ambiguous as to the true purpose of the Licenses and what they will permit in the long run but I thought it would be a good starting place to use them to more rigorously enforce RP on the basis that those who carry them are fully susceptible to the chosen RP regime.
I guess in a way this could allow for those who do not wish to RP to not carry licenses thus could be allowed to roam free. Then of course, I presume that those who do will have to adhere to a set of basic RP guidelines which could allow us to RP to a better standard.
I know that it has been debated that with stricter RP regulations It could detract players who do not wish to RP and that there is the possibility of loopholes in the concept for which people could exploit. The question I pose to you all today is could the benefits of this idea outweigh the disadvantages? If something like this were to be put into place, could it add that bit of extra spice to Role Play on the Void which we've all been longing?
Only a few ideas, I welcome comments and suggestions.
Regards
Lloyd
