Edit resolution/aspect ratio for widescreen monitors

Hi,

I've seen a few rumours here and there on the net.

Is there a text document which can be edited in order to provie more screen resolutions for widescreen monitors?

Any web site, instructions would be helpful. Or if anyone has already done this and can email me the text document so i can replace the one in my FL directory I would be grateful.

I need this too, My new laptop has a 17-inch screen and the max resolution is 1440x900, and when I run freelancer the best I can pick is 1024x798 and every planet looks like a weird squished egg.

The screen saver ia a bit girly though. Not that there's anything wrong with girls. I love 'em...well I love my girl friend. She wont let me love other girls unfortunately.

Hi guys sorry for not responding sooner.
The easiest way I know to do it is this.

Right click on your desktop icon, select properties / shortcut.



Then you want to add –window to the end of that line, make sure you leave a space so it’s.
EXAMPLE:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\Freelancer.exe"[SPACE]-window



Failing that you can download this direct connect shortcut I use, it's all set up ready to go

And it worked?, you download the file, double-click on it and?...

Is it an autodecompressor? should I overwrite Freelancer.exe with this new one? ?

And after installing, will we lose part of top&down of the screen? or a extra part will be added to both sides (left&right)?

I'm tired of flat Planets too, but I don't wanna lose view  :D

It's a simple desktop short cut.

Download it, place it on your desktop and double click it. Freelancer should fire up.

adjust game screen resolution in options to suit.

Then go to multiplayer / LAN and you should see the Void server. join the game - simple

You lose nothing from the view it's like you had an ordinary screen instead of a wide screen. See below -

Is this the only way to resolve this. Are there any known ways of adjsting the available resolutions so that the game can be viewed in full screen and in proportion. I kind of got the impression theere was but it could be pure fantasy.
