Outside of their jurisdiction - is it legal?

[OOC/] Just to clear up any confusion, I am posting this as a trader, not a pirate. [/OOC]
While trading in the Omicron Alpha system, I was party to a new low in police brutality.
The Dacia faction is now scanning passing traders for contraband, and doing so without warrants from the factions that control the area. Clearly, Dacia is not only operating outside of its jurisdiction, but is also in violation of our civil rights which protect against illegal search and seizure.
After finding a trader in possession of Cardimine after ILLEGALLY SCANNING HIM, Dacia pilots immediately opened fire. No rights, no due process, nothing but the flash of their guns and the explosions of their rockets hitting the civilian's hull. After they were through, nothing remained but cargo canisters floating through space.
I was able to take holos of the incident, which I will present to you now.
If the proper authorities had acted, things would have happened much differently.
First, the authorities would have had a warrant signed by a judge with jurisdiction over the system in question.
Second, they would scan the trader as allowed by the warrant, discover the Cardimine and arrest the trader.
Third, they would try the trader in a court of law. The evidence obtained is now admissible in such a court due to the fact that a warrant was obtained BEFORE the positive scan for Cardimine.
Fourth, they would sentence the trader to a period in prison. Cardimine possession is not an offense punishable by death.
But the system that has served us well since the first human set foot on a Sirius planet is now being substituted with one far more cruel and barbaric.
The Dacia have not as of yet laid claim to the Omicron Alpha system, and therefore have no jurisdiction there. The smuggling problem in that system is a matter for the AoF, TERCIO, and other factions established in the system to decide, not a faction that has no legal power in the region.
What the Dacia are doing amounts to cold-blooded murder, and I implore the factions already established in the system to end this reign of terror and bring law to Omicron Alpha.

Hmm, Darcia. Darcia are not navy. They may have been navy in the past, but not anymore. Darcia, once a proud people have fallen to the dominion of the Dom'Kavash Hive.
How does a petty rogue like me I know this? The talkative Nomad Neutralizer often brags about the clans he controls while threatening to kill me.
Also, its the standard Nomad tactic, Nomads being weak fighters themselves rely upon their ability to possess humans. They attempt to divide the colonies against each other until humanity's forces are weak enough to be eliminated by their inferior Nomad warriors.
It appears to me that the Dom'Kavash Hive is trying to stage a war between the Alliance of Freelancers, Darcia, the Outcast, and the Dalek, whilst damaging the income of many of the evil factions they are currently at war with at the same time. I do not know the extent of the Nomad infestation, but if not stopped I am afraid we may see a Nomad invasion in the near future.
[/rp]
[ooc]Don't get angry at the player, this is my rogue rp. All the facts on the Dom'Kavash Hive I got from this website:

In regards to all the comments made in this Forum with respect to the TRADING in OMICRON ALPHA SPACE ...
READ AS FOLLOWS...for the freelancer game, and as well the multiplayer version with different rules specified by
each SERVER you decide to play on. YOU must read, so that you follow within the guidelines and rules of this policy.
For RESPECT to the comment made by Live R Evil, Rogues kill for pleasure, not bounties, we have already discussed this.
Your sole intent is to cause problems on this SERVER.
As for AoF, DKH is Neutral with them. So do me a personal favor and DONT EVER SPEAK FOR ME !
As for you, your treachery, lies and deciet, have started and caused wars, and nothing but problems.
You have created quite a nasty name for yourself .
As for The Dacia, I have tried to negoiate with them, to cease the SUDDEN RP in OMICRON ALPHA SPACE.
As this seems particurally new and a sudden change of rp. Secondly, cardimine is NOT illegal in alpha space.
IT is ILLEGAL IN ALL THE MAJOR COLONIES ~ ALPHA IS NOT A MAJOR COLONY ~
DACIA is in DIRECT VIOLATION of OMICROM ALPHA SPACE, The Rights to this sector, are currently occupied by Shadows, AoF and the somewhat inactive Tercio Clans respecively. DacIa have no jurisdiction In OMICRON ALPHA SPACE PERIOD!
If they so choose to follow an absurd RP such as CARDIMINE, I suggest A MAJOR COLONY SUCH AS RHIENLAND, LIBERTY, KUSARI and BRETONIA. They are major colonies, I also stongly suggest that you READ the RULES.
For I will tell you this, even after much wasted time trying to set some peaceful relations in the systems, it it impossible when some people Cant LET GO of the PAST. I do however know extent of the Nomads. And you will see a Nomad invasion in the near future. It is inevitable. Resistance is futile.

I agree with the people who say this action by Dacia is unjust, they hold no status of law enforcement in Alpha. The trade of cardamine was a outcast tradition since they settled on planet Malta years ago. The only laws in this system our that of the outcasts for no major colonies control Alpha. The AoF trade in cardamine as it is legal in Alpha and our chief merchant officer deems it legal for AoF to trade in. Dacia trying to "uphold law" by stopping this trade is not a show of law enforcement, more a show of its' military strength in these systems. They have no right to be here and to i am treating this as an invasion of the outcasts' system and planets and the blockade as a way to destroy the economy in Alpha.
We at AoF will ensure that our traders can trade safely and the [X] wing will openly fight Dacia to break their control on the system!
AoF President Titan
btw am glad to see some good RP around here now, so yeah thx to Dacia with providing a good opportunity for us all. Even if it is quite an annoyance to traders but well life isn't without challenges.

The RAF will not act outside its mandate. Our licence states that we keep trade lanes clear and take down pirates and rouges to ensure safe trade. However we have been asked and will assist in clearing Cardamine from the Alexandra system as this has a chance however unlikely that it may find its way to New Berlin.
Cardamine is illegal for a purpose. It is highly addictive has unpleasant side effects.
//well done guys makes things a bit more interesting makes me want to set up an illegal trader just for the chases.//

Seems the Dacia are annoying the cardamine runs, I call every pirate to come to Omicron Alpha and remove this treath once and for all! And to all traders, Ignore the dacia and keep running the cardamine(im addicted and i come often on The Hispania)
We need a clan to take controll again in Alpha to keep the navy scum out.
OOC: good job lads, RP is living again.

(VOID Guardian Character) - Human Rights? Legal Rights? Here? On the Void? .......*(leafs through the manual)* - ah! Yes it states quite clearly here - "Space Is a Dangerous Place". You are flying in a predominantly Outcasts system and you are concerned about your rights as a trader? I would be more worried about how fast you can get away from the law and then the pirates if you want to hold on to your cargo. As to "police brutality"? Well - tell that to the Pirates and miscreants that haunt the regions of the Sirius system - You'll be wanting to take the Red Hessians and the Outcasts to court next..... Say it with guns or get some money together to pay off the corrupt police and to get protection from the various pirate clans. Also - never trust and R tag or anyone that says they are a Nomad.....!
(-=REAVERS=- character) .... The news cast made the retired commander laugh out loud. Here was nothing more than a weak and petulant claim to "rights"... HA! What rights had they ever shown the cast offs that were the result of Nomad experiments? What rights had they ever shown the downtrodden and scarred members of their so called "civilisation" when they begged for help? He drew on his cigar , placed the report on his desk and thought to himself, "Reap the wild wind my quaking trader victim! Reap the wild wind...."

@ Zeb: I thought it would be funny to play a whiny civilian at least once...sort of like that guy in Mission 2 who you catch hauling artifacts. This whole topic was all tongue-in-cheek...trading's only gotten more fun since the Dacia blockade.
[/ooc]
Cow's Pirate Character: We all know that Omicron Alpha belongs to the pirates. Any future naval insolence in the system will be answered in kind. Savvy? >:)

"We have decided, after an succesfull campaign in Omicron Alpha against drugs dealers in cooperation with our alies,to temporarly suspend the actions in this system. We have to give our fighters a short vacation so we will continue to concentrate our actions against pirates and rogues, but will temporarly suspend the blockade. Dacia thx to all who gaved their supports in helping us in big battles in Alpha system, especialy our alies 4S-Squad and our friends RAF. "

So, as I sit in my little Thoth trader and plod about space am I to take it that the law has actualy woken up and started to act by cracking down on the drug trade? Well blow me down and call me Doris, but instead of whinging about it why not organise Blockade Runners - just like the British did during the Napoleonic Wars. And Im missing something - the Dreaded Dom Kavash Hive (nomads? right?) - all I can say is Dont Talk - Shoot! - dont want Dacia around? March em off the system and let us poor impoverished traders who deal in the less legal items in a Cardamine Producing System (Outcasts? right?) get on with plying our trade to keep the junkies of New York and the rest of Sirius supplied with their necessary fix. Not that I have EVER traded in illegal goods or items you understand, as a fine upstanding member of the AoF I abhore and decry any illegal activities........

:-? :D
..Caliban sat back and took a swig of bourbon out of the flask - "phew - Im gonna need this if the pressure keeps up!" - Clamping the cigar between his teeth he swung the heavily laden Thoth onto its course, hit the auto pilot and headed for the Quiet Route out of Omicron Alpha...
