Having trouble downloading the Void mod

Both the Void mod and the mod manager are giving me trouble when trying to download them. I downloaded the Mod manager, went to open the zipped folder and get this message...
The Compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted
And when I go to extract the zipped folder, it says there is nothing to extract :-?

Got them, but now I still cannot see any servers on the list in multi player. It is just constantly telling me "Connecting to Global Server..."
I tried doing this
