Freelancer - The Void

Hi, I am new here on Void.

I'll introduce myself: 40-ish, wife and two baby-girls 1 and 3, busy job, not much time for gaming. Most likely you will see me online once-in-a-while. Oh well. Just enough to keep my account activated, I hope.

Today was to be my first time online in FL, I have been reading  many nice stories about The Void (mainly the Void staff) here, but seems the server is unavailable due to updating? Great! This means active server support!
I have been reading many forum threads and I am still a bit confused on RP, many clans here claim they RP, but not for real, if I read Strails 'for kids and teens'?
Also need to get the picture on taxing, difference between pirates and rogues, clanplay in general.

Anyway, most likely I'll stick to myself, exploring the Void and you won't see me get in your way, maybe unless I explore your piece of the Void.
Don't hesitate to blow me away, if it makes you feel better. I can take it (I will have to until I get my ship upgraded  =P~ )

Any newby-startup-tips I need to have before I plunge head-first into The Void?
I'd warmly appreciate those...

Hello Mokum,welcome to the Void!
I would recommend you first to start doing some exploring and find yourself a nice trade route ( [X] and [R] tagged players are of course to be avoided)
Once you're all set up financially you can easily "deposit" your money with the /bank command to make it available on all your characters (for further details check the /bank help command)
There's a lot of helpfull players out there (especially those tagged [FAQ]) so if you're feeling lost or need help just give them a shout.

Thanks to all for welcoming me and yes I happen to be Dutch, hence the fontcolor (to do w. queens last name).

I found Strails 'server news' thread and through it I found the new mod. So I went in and Void is... 'teasing' me to explore the stuff I have never found in FL before .
I can't wait to return, it looks so great. Also, I'm a bit overwhelmed with all different clantags ingame, I'll just stick with it and get used to them.
