History Of The Void Server

I've started this topic because I want to know more about the server I/we play on and i think it would make good reading for any new people thinking about joining the server. I played here about 4 years ago for a few months then came back middle of this year so as far as my knowledge of this great server goes it's pretty small. So lets run this and find out how it all began,who stared the Void?  How much it has changed from when it stared up to now?  What great pvp'rs have been and gone on this server and made an impact, maybe there was 1 untouchable? How ships have changed? ect ect

i dont really know how it started but all i heard that was best days in OVID history (no moans bralwer battles). Everything is different now sad but true, i remember laggless pvp's lot of gf's and now everywhere is spam ,cheats, and lagg its sad

Ships there were Horus and Cylon Raider now they gone coz of too many bugs ....
Clan ships were added all those modded ships u see now are clan made

All clans that fought for sparta night after night after night, 40+ players fighting over bragging rights for Sparta the undisputed king of systems for pvpers - so much blood has been spilt there so much money in ammo has been spent there.

There were no uber sniper guns, there was only really 2 ships to choose from, Anubis and Conq, everyone was a brawler, missile spamming was hugley frowned upon by everybody, actual pvp skill was very high you couldnt 2 hit kill someone like you can now, a fight could last 15 mins or more in a 1 v 1 with good pilots.

Id like to thank all those who played in those days some friends some enemies all decent players you could sit and chat too after your hands got tired from fighting them 5+ hours, with next to no cheating at all.
Through all that time Strails been here fixing mending tweaking - and I still havent had chance to gun him down  ;).

to be honest nomad about half the guys on your list can not touch the other half and they would tell you that if they were going to be honest. burn has the best list with one missing ashta. that guy became as good as any on here. other than those 6 or 7 there were not any other that so owned the server that their frags would have been insain if they were keep back then. they all did it in conquors with guns to. i remember reading entropy saying that he wanted to be able to beat becker.  does that tell you how good he was. oh and i am not talking about the new mods like 2112, he said old like the 2015 or the first mod i cant remember number it was not here long before it was replaced by the 2015 mod., verm or trav could help with that.

but being a good pvp'er does not make you a great void player, to much put on pvp many times as it is an extra to the game added by the creater of the server and the mod. not part of the game to start with.

as far as your first qustion the server was and still run by strail. he is the man, the god of the void if you will. he is creater and the guy that holds it togeather.

as far as the ships well you be the judge, the conqu and anubis were the tops ships in the beginning. now many ships are faster more agile, yet none bring more power than those 2 ships. the anubis use to have 3 torps not 2 ,plus all its guns, that was real knock down power for high lev npc and clan wars. and of coarse we have many more systems and bases. most of those being added on with the 2112 and the newer 2115 mods.

however many thing have stayed the same around here also. we still have the best admin team i have ever seen on any server. we still have very simple rules. and i think day in and day out we have the best all around players on any server in the world. oh sure you will get a bad apple every once in  a while but at the end of the day, all in all we have great players& admin that is why we have always been one of the top servers in the world for going on 4 years. and will continue to be in the future.

so what has change? alot of cosmedic stuff, but the thing that makes this the greatest server in the world (in my opionion ) has never changed.

ps. retrobution you posted while i was typing mine but you are totally correct about the ships and pvp. use to take along time. and we had alot of great clan wars. why they made the efz to start with.

There were server wars... They would come to our server and fight, we would go to thiers and fight. - they lost  :D

There were once Nomads and Nomad battleships in Sparta and Alexandria in a long running story that strail edited and made on a weekly basis.

The Abandoned city was once changed to [X]EF base in another clan role play story.

There was once a trade run called "the shield run" and boy did that make life interesting!

Theres been funny bugs too, like the original spartan with 2x thrusters and couldnt be hit except from the back - they were outlawed but when people bought them you'd have like 20 people trying to kill it with admins sat watching you all ( probably laughing too).

And as posted above StoerteBecker was the best pvp'er not just on void but imo in the world and Ive played most of the servers

The funniest person I ever met on here was Wayfarer, many a night Ive sat on here drinking and talking to him - he would crack me up laughing.

The Void is now about 4 and a bit years old. When I started here 30 odd players felt busy lol. There were 3 admins, I seem to remember, Strail (Cadfael), Clavat and Lex Luther; some one may correct me on Lex.
The king of npc kills on the server at teh time was Wasted Warrior.
Of the Clans I can remember N*O, BloodPac, TNG, IT and the newly started BBB. there was also a spattering of pirates and freelance pilots.
The first clan war was between BBB and Bloodpac. We were helped out by N*O (our longest standing allies) and IT sided with BloodPac. The war was over pretty quickly, with Takashin and the rest of the BloodPac eventualy leaving the server.
Shortly after this 2 members of the BBB left to start up the Shadows clan,, with their eveil alien rp, which nrought about the start of the largest war the server has seen.
During this time lots of new clans joined the server, such as KBA, Stargate, Mafia, Knights, Syndicate and HK. Some of these clans joining in the war. KBA and Stargate aligning with the BBB and a new clan named Rolls, formed by an x member of Stargate, becoming allies along with Syndicate, with the Shadows.
This war was to see the last of the serious all out fighting, with pilots using everything at their disposal including botts and batts.
After some rather serious business with the leader of Rolls, ended up being awarded the illustrious title of the first  to recieve a copmplete ban from server, which ended up with BBB and Shadows actualy joining up to hunt down the Rolls leaders, the war was brought to a shakey end.
After the disolution of Rolls, two of its members stayed on. Stick became a member of BBB and Viva El Presidente who flew as a Freelancer before joining Knights.
It was during this period that the pirate influence in Sirious began to Grow. A new clan, named XEF, led by Master and Entropy Slayer, came into being. With the recently implemented 2015 mod came an extremely lucrative trade route from the Dysons sphere system to the Delta system, both new systems. This brought about plenty of trading and in turn plenty for pirates to hunt.
Added to this the new clan system, scene of many a pirate raid on the BBB home planet Kress, you didn't have to look far for action.
Another Clan, set up by ex HK members also came into being at this point, the Saints, a neutral clan who set up their home in Sparta.
By now the pvp culture was spawned and the use of botts and batts came to an end, some say this detracted from the enjoyment of fighting against other players, but those who disliked botts and batts  were the loudest and as the server was undergoing a large influx of players it spread through the newer player base.
Other new clans that were about at this time: HFC, DW, KA, Samurai, Ooutlaws, NS, BoP, GPP.
New members of staff were created around this time also, with the Guard position being created as a response to the ever expanding amount of players. Some of the first to take up positions as guards: Wayfarer, Elessar, Admiral, Fracture, Tiods, Durango,  Spartan, Tracker, Sidhe, Wraith and Constantine; a few of whom later became Admins.
In august of 2005 the forums had to be wiped and reset, the earliest join dates you'll see are from around the 18th august that year.
I'll write some more in a bit lol gotta pop out for a bit.

Edit: In my opinion Mafia Zach was the man with the skills in terms of pvp. Also his clan mate Wez was pretty damn hot.
