Freelancer - The Void

hi all .im flying by the name o punch side-iron at the mo.. just had a spot of lag and got banned for speed cheating. i dont or never have cheated.I suspect its a glitch in the definitions somehow. just wondered if this has happened to anyone else.  and also how long the ban lasts. ...drat..!

Do you have the mod 2115v1 or 2115v6?

The v1 has a speed update that doesnt work. If you have that one you probally got kicked for it. Its automatic.
Or did you cut your engine wile in cruise mode? it will burn out your truster and/or engine. It can also trigger an automatic kick.

If you are banned than an ADMIN or VOID would have posted on the forum. They will aslo post the "why" and "how long"
Try reïnstalling the mod and join via direct connect. If it still doesnt work you should PM an ADMIN.

Just a heads up

don't think it's possible to join the server if don't have the right mod installed anymore, I don't think you cheat either and asInfinity said if you were banned then the adimn that banned you would most likely stated here why and how long you would be banned.
If it was an automatic kick/ban then you could probably contact and admin to find out more and maybe solve this.

Oh and not smart to post ID on forums, people might abuse it suggest you edit that.

I've just had it happen to me for second time in two days, first time no admin posted about it either.

I've been seeing this pop up in-game over the last couple of days, too. Somebody gets kicked, and the console starts spamming the following message:

Cheating detected, banning player : (player name here)

The first time I saw this, this message was repeated over several screens, both when Tiberius was online and when not. By now, the amount of messages is less, but it still repeats at least ten times. Also, in some cases, like when I was fighting with Gabriel less than half an hour ago, I'm fairly certain that they weren't cheating. At least, not in any way that I could see :) It doesn't look like it's a permanent ban, though - so what does it mean?

do you know how long the ban will last? as neither blarg or nova can connect.  a disaster>>

You will see the same point mentioned over and over as it waits for a time to inject the ban into the server software.

The player is banned after a sample of speeds are checked over a period of time. Until now players just got their engines thrusters etc. melting. However, I have decided to change this and just ban them as its a pointless exercise to constantly kill a player over and over and it frees up anticheat checking and resource. The other thing to keep in mind is that if your hardware or connection is faulty its the other players being affected by it, therefore, its another reson to just release you from the server so we dont have to suffer your connection issues and lag the server hardware.

verry rarely do i experience connection probs and even rarer lag i hope the ban doesnt last too long .the last time i was able to connect was 3 pm today . as punch side iron .shot a few npcs . and then it happened.  thanks for your reply.
for the record  ive no hardware probs nor internet connection probs.  ime not bothered by the ban  just wondered how long it lasts.

Standard ban is 7 days.
