Freelancer - The Void

Hey guys, it's been a long time since i last played and i am very interested in returning to try and help with getting things back on track.  How's the server been coping lately?

I've one problem, i do not have the game anymore as i lost my previous disc and i'm not exactly sure where you can still purchase it... does anyone have any idea or have any certain links they can direct me to which will help me get the game again?

How's things been?

Things are cool m8, most of the complainers and moaners have gone, (or removed by me) so new young Voids every day...
Quiet in the day GMT but good numbers at night 5-6 pm onwards.

That's great to hear, glad things are still up and running, even if a few have gone.  Just goes to show who really does stick around in the dire need.  I'm currently in the process of getting the game, so hopefully i'll either be on later tonight or tomorrow afternoon sometime.  Starting as level 1 again should be interesting

Asmo, you're really over-simplifying things there. (Although many others did so too.) In my opinion, there's a lot more to the Void's somewhat-recent story than that: it's not nearly as simple as blaming things on moaners/cheaters/anyonebutme/etc.
Headhunter, if you knew even part of what happened, you probably wouldn't make comments like "Just goes to show who really does stick around in the dire need". That one, for example, is in my opinion unfair to quite a number of people.

Most importantly, I'd say that (in alphabetical order) AlphaWolf, LuckyLuke and earlier on, VectorX really did stick around in dire need. The times when Strail went away, they kept everything running for a long time - and too few people thanked them for that, even though they very much deserve it. Without their efforts and time, the Void wouldn't have stayed alive then. So, even though I was one of those who worked together with them on the new mod, I'd still like to send them another round of thanks publicly. Thank you for all the effort you put into the Void, and the good times you made possible for everyone!


Back to HH: if you really are curious about what happened, I suggest you ask around. (I also suggest you do it privately, as I assume it still is a very touchy subject for many.) Just keep in mind that those who're still here and those who aren't are going to paint a considerably different picture. The truth is probably somewhere between the two. After all, everyone is, by our nature, subjective - and I don't think there's anyone who knows all the details.


Oh, and a disclaimer, just to be on the safe side: No, I'm not claiming that I know the whole truth, and I'm not going to post my opinions here on what happened either. Also, I'm not active in Freelancer anymore, and don't plan on being so: I only re-registered recently to get in touch with some people I've lost contact with. Seeing these two posts just prompted me to write here.

Update @ Asmo, since I'd rather not keep posting in the thread: you seem to have misunderstood me. I believe I wrote down why I wrote what I wrote, so please read my post again. If it wasn't clear enough, my apologies.
Oh, and I'm not concerned with whether anyone wants to play here or not: instead, I'm concerned with giving credit where credit is due. I did use to say that (and still do), after all.

Draugr m8 the past is the past and most new players here now, no nothing of what you speak, we are
now looking to the future, and if you no longer play here why be so concerned about some one who wants to give it another shot.

Hey Clavat mate, yeah you really should.  This is my first time back on in almost a year... feels great, missed the game quite a bit if i'm honest.  Glad to be back

I think for me it was also close to a year or more, busy with work, being in the hospitals a lot and had no working computer at most times and it seems I played to much PS3 and Xbox360 during my free times.

Hello there my old friend....

That's fair enough mate, RL always comes first.  It's one of the reasons i had to stop playing for a while.  Was really busy with college work, trying to get everything finished and get the highest marks i could, without any distractions.  Gladly it's over now, and i did get highest marks which i'm happy about.  I'm starting university in September but that'll be a lot easier for the first few years and less stressful so everything'll be grand there  :)

Stop by in the game when you manage to get some free time mate, i did about a week ago now and really enjoyed it... been on everyday since

I'm in the same boat HH, I'm sure we've met in game many moons ago. Will be getting me a copy of FL soon.
