Well, since September, I have been making discreet enquiries with many server providers in Europe and USA.
We have pretty unique requirements so it has been difficult to find a suitable provider...until now.
Our contract expires at the end of November with the current provider and we have finally found another server provider who can provide us with a better spec. server/service and hardware. Sure we will be paying some more for it, but we thought it was worth the difference.
The only details I will give you at this moment in time is that we will have a huge amount of improved CPU power, We will be on the European Internet Backbone and from my testing I get a 6-9ms reduction on the ping.
We have decided to go with this because we believe that The Void hasnt yet reached a saturation point, were hard working on the next mods (bug fix and next version) we still believe that we can attract more new players and we still believe that we should try and offer the best there is to the players.
So those of you who are suffering with lag etc at the moment need only perservere for a little longer.
We hope to have the new sever & bug fix mod out at the same time and for a few days we will be running both servers whilst we ensure all is ok. We will then xfer all over to the new server so nothing is lost.
When we have more information we can give out we will do.
