Lol they're stored on the server not you own machine..never the less your MPID is VITAL to this process so back it up.

The new server should have you player saves although they may be a few hours out of date since the last time you used them..they were copied off the old server on the morning of december 1st not terribly long before it was shut down, but there may be some rollback for some of you.
