Teritorial Engagments

Post by SLicer »

I have recently downloaded a Total Conversion called FreeWorlds.  It's a Star Wars TC that changes EVERYTHING POSSIBLE about the game!  every ship, base, system and weapons are moded to look like the star wars universe.  In the server though, clans actually occupy certain systems. To gain these systems, clans have to schedule "Teritorial Engaments".  Basically, the clans meet in the middle of the map and start fighting.  Whoever wins gets the system.  My point is that we can adopt this method and use is as our own to decide who gets what system!

the only problem is that u have to get a patch that removes the npc's from play so that the npc's dont get in the way!
i think its a fun way for clans to get their own space and attack whatever necessary.

I voted yes, because its fun to do it.
On the other hand it will be almost impossible to play fair, because some clans have alot more players than other clans.
I'fe you get a clan terretory war with 6 members on one side and 12 on the other. Than the fight is over before it begins.

You could do 6 against 6 but that means some members cant fight and i believe all want to fight.
So that will be a problem.
But i'fe we can get to a fair fight than its a great idea.

Watch you'r back, Inf.

I voted yes too.

Sounds like a load of fun and if we have test period of taxes maybe we can have test peroid of this.

Elite Fight Zone should be neutral ground. And if some clan is samller we use fair and square tactic use same amount of players in the fight.
Catch is we need some one to be a judge of this. Some total neutral. For admins it maybe be a problem because they have a lot of work to do already.
So we need to have a judge who will decide the winner clan who are fighting.
This is just an idea guys who needs a lot of discusion.

We need ot w8 for Strail reply or any higher ADMIN.Well see what they say.

If u ask me i am totaly in for it.

I would like to see this possible. But having more members does show superiority and then you also get the better fighters helping to beat the more manned clan. When doing these sorts of fights it would be good to see how many memebers that turn up to fight etc.

So i think they would be good and they dont really need limits on the amount of players etc as some individual class can turn the tide of any batle ;)

See you in space.

I´m not sure to agree, at a time we had fight with XEF and they were able to manage this kind of troubles without (apparently) too much trouble
btw, I was in the loosing team

Regarding the vote, yes! I hope Mr. Strail and the ATs would be able to manage. I remember that on Colours, systems could be attributed to clans and on TNG (I think) you could even by your advertisment as incoming message when entering in a system - these are, in my opinion, some "interesting" add-ons.

Hope that an admin will read and answer that post topic.

I thought up another type of TE the other day, called Quick TE.  It would require some kind of light cruiser-like ship, so we would have to wait for another mod to do it.  Basically, the teams would have to land on a base as a respawn point.  The cruiser would get a commodity called "infantry squad" or something like that, and it would have to transport to the other base.  Both teams are trying to do this and will most certainly cross paths on the way.  The first team to unload their cargo at the enemy station would win.  I was thinking that the transports would bring along escorts and their would be this big battle.  Just an idea!

There will be clan systems and clan ships in the new mod coming out in march...And some clan bases, so it could be possible.

Good Luck

I voted yes.
I am in a clan on 2 other servers (same clan) since 1 of them died we'll move to Void.

On the server there were territoral batlles.
2 clans could challenge eachother and the clan who wins will get a system as there own.

There was the rule 1 clan could have 1 pilot more then the other clan.
So the bigger clan has a slighlt advantage but not very much.

The members who fight in batlles over systems at least needed to have 20 hours played.

It was very fun I hope Void will do it 2!

This kind of threat was posted many times before, I dont like.

One system belong to those that keep it each day. It is a daily battle. It is a daily fun.

and it is not the  result of a fight, or a battle of one or two days.

Other thing is when the mod is done thinking about planets, bases, just for clans. VOID had clan planets, and an exclusive system for clans in the past, and it was been removed (right decision in my opinion)

Choice a base, or a planet, or a system, post in forum that you would defend it, and you would have fun battles and fights.

I agree with the idea. Two thumbs up, but I thought about hiring mercenaries if one side needed more fighters. Furthermore, I thought about paying tribute to the person with a higher level of influence.

First of all, the concept i'm getting from Freeworlds is that there aren't any clan systems to start out with.  You just fight out over the systems that are already there.  For example, if some clan (for some reason) wanted to take Omicron Alpha, they would take it.  But if someone hostile to the alleged clan occupied the system already, they'd have the whole battle thing.  I was thinking that if a clan was powerful enough, they could take over a couple of systems.

Now about the clan systems in the next mod.  If this trend starts in the next mod, then i think we should make it so that nobody can attack a clan system.  That way, a "weak" clan still has a system to launch from.  A clan system for a certain clan is that clan's oasis and i dont think that clans should lose their systems and have to go somewhere else.

i think mercs is a great.  though the mercs would have totall rep problems because they would have to be neutral to everyone.  i do like it though.  Nice idea Sang
