I dont think there are any plans to have you wipe your characters, we will organise something to get them re-done (with your help) so you dont lose your stats.

I'm curious to what is the difference between a "rogue-like" clan and an "evil" clan?  Isn't <666>, Eclipse, Saints, Fallen, Netsphere etc clans all "rogue-like" in a sense?  When I fly around in my other characters I've been ambushed by all of these clans without warning.

I don't mind losing the [R] tag.  I've always been very cooperable with rules set forth by ADMINS.

Thanks for your help Strail and TIODS.

Scream on!

As ent said ,I can see the sense in these rules but it kind of defeats the purpose of having [R] tags at all.  I thought that if your game play was to shoot people without reason then you HAD to have [R] tags.  If this aint the case, then  why wear them? it justs warns people about a Rogue nearby.  If i was to be an "evil player" and not have [R] tags I could shoot without warning and without tags?

Sorry to open up a can of worms but the npcs have a clan of rogues aswell as pirates etc...

Starting to wish I had never replied in the first place lol.

We will help transition your characters so that you won't lose anything.

We'll pm Venom when we're ready to rename your characters.  Please have a list of new character names ready to go when we are.

Hi Schildi,

having an [r] tag was a polite way of saying "im gonna kill you, run"

but the essence of freelancer is of course being able to do whatever
you want within the rules, even if that includes killing people on sight.

i added an [R] tag to one of my characters to stem the complaints that
come in, via the much maligned "green" but i tend to attack whoever
i want on all my characters lol. theres something amazing about
blasting another human being into a twisted burning wreck in space.

yes, its also massively crushing when its done to you in return and
if its done repeatedly by the same person, frustrating too.

i reckon theres a few ways the [R] tag could be amended to suit the
game. one would be allowing [R] tagged players to attack traders
and/or people under the level of 20, the former the more favourable
option. that would mean limiting non tagged players from killing
traders. im not sure if its really a good idea but i thought it lol

another idea is that rogues have to have a great rogue reputation
so that there not so safe in areas policed by the forces of good.
im not sure if having a great rogue rep will make much difference
but if it meant rogues gett attacked by the order, robots, monkeys
and other patrolling factions around the alexandria gates, for
example, it may make it alittle bit less popular a choice of RP

I don't think people realise how being killed for no reason repeatedly actually feels to the person constantly respawning.

Just yesterday, I was in Alexandria, having docked at Demosthenes.  I wasblown up by the same person three times in a row, just seconds after undocking, presumably simply because he could and felt like it.  (Of course, being in an empty Guardian with pitiful weapons meant that I was zero threat.)

People who do that aren't being clever or funny or even using great skill and tactics; they just serve to irritate people and (if taken too far) drive people away from the server.
