Clan Ship skins

I've been asked about putting these into the mod so clans can have their own ship colours/logos.

Clans who have this done should pm me with the link for the skin.

Clans who dont have this done either need to organise someone to do it, or we can add theirs at a later time with an update.

For those who dont understand what I mean:
The term "Skin" is used for the texture on the ship, so you will need to choose an existing ship and re-texture it for your clan, then send me the .mat file. The .mat file holds the graphics/textures to be mapped onto the ship.

I will add those I receive, there is no close date for this.Skins I receive after going live with the mod will be added later.

Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I understand, when you apply a clan skin, only you and your clan will see it and you will see everyone with your skin on. They will not see you wearing it as they will see everyone else in their skin.

i doubt thats how it works. wouldnt even be worth the effort if that was the wya it worked.

Cool thats going to be here now ...On my friends server witch I cant get on anymore  due to global server,... moded me a cool ship with my name on the sides and some cool lights, ...How active does your clan have to be to get it done?

When you apply clan skin on some ship, it won't be as regular ship, for example eagle, it's default skin you can see in this mod in many places. I'll take as example Abandoned City in Sparta, you see it's default skin, but, when clan skin is applied on the same ship, that eagle will be sold at different place, with completly new skin, but the original one will still be in Sparta with it's original skin. And of course all players will be able to see the clan skins, not only clan members. So if there are dunno 3 skins for eagle for 3 clans, you'll seee 4 diferent eagles, 1 with original skin, and 3 with skins form that 3 clans.

I hope I made this a bit clearer now.

Great Idea Strail . May I ask for a few help please ?

To create a Ship skin its always best to analize the previous skin , so My Questions are ...

1.where are those skins located in FL Directory and Void mod directory ? ( as an example where is the Akin of Anubis MK II located )

2.Is it a must that the skin should be in .Mat format ? Will .jpeg or .png or .targa work ? ( Only the diffuse color texture I mean in case a clan wants to change the diffuse color only , leaving glossiness , bump , specular color highlights as before . )

3.If I'm not wrong then FL Ships are textured by using Unwrap UVW , so the new skins texture positions must match the old one to work , sorry but I couldn't find any known image formats / Ship skin texture in FL directory , can someone please tell me where are they ?

Hey Strail, great to see clan skins being applied after all. This is something many of us were looking forward to way back when this mod was being made, so it will be nice to finally see it.

If I remember correctly, most of the ships on this mod were to be clan ships, and most of them already had a clan skin. The idea was scraped, but the skins were made.
The Knights ship was the WA-1, it had a nice grey/silver skin with some wicked tribal designs and a shield, if I remember correctly. Do you still have those files?
If not, I think I might have the clan ships mod , that was released to some of us to view the skins (I´m not sure if I still have it, I must check it when I get home).
If so, we might just use that.

Of course Xardas is quite handy with graphics, so he might want to attempt a new one. It´s up to him.
