Ping

Post by FREELANCER510 »

I'm new at playing games on the internet, so I have a question about how I can lower my ping in the game. I 'am at 126 ping right now and I feel that I can not compete in PVP because of that. Is there a driver or wathever that I can use to lower  my Ping? :-?

Yes, 120's is OK especially if you don't get red lag on a regular basis, I remember playing dialup on Elite with ping over 300 yes you heard right over 300!  However, look at all apps you have that use internet bandwidth and turn them off when u game and of course scan for spyware.

As far as I know two things have a major impact on your ping. One is less influencable, the distance to the server. The server is located in Western Europe. come over the pond and feel the lower ping  :D :D :D .  The other one is the load on you internet connection. If you have parallel up-/downloads or programs running, you increase your ping.

have fun

one other thing, while the distance does have an effect, it has a little more to do with the amount of switches between you and the server,,, by pass your router if you have one, go direct to modem,, this wont necesarily lower your ping but will help against the red lag... at least this is wha i have found works for me,,,, my ping is average 140, but loss is ussualy 0%,,,, my opponents still jump on me sometimes, but just learn to play that way, you will do fine.
