Vanilla ship question.

Hello my fellow VOIDians.

Freelancer has been around for a long time and i playd it online sinds then and i cant believe i have to ask this question.
I've been playing the Void since it first whent public so vanilla ships arnt really my specialty.

So there for i need to ask this question; Saber or Eagle?

I know Eagles are faster in turn rate, but i dont think that would be an issue because i could outturn an Wa1 with the Highbred. Because im good :^o Just kidding  ;)  I just learnt athing or two about hit and run in pvp.
The Saber looks like its made in Heaven for the Devils its super thats my main thing.
I dont know there stats so please put them here.
I use the ship mainly for missions and some here and there (more here then there) pvp ing.

Sabre or Eagle? Geez if the old TLR was up you'd see 'nuf posts on that to keep ya busy for ages.

Bottom line is Eagle out-turns Sabre but Sabre's Strafe is way better. Plus the turret on Sabre fires forward so it delivers more damage.

Like everything in FL, depends on how you use it. Since Sabre will strafes so well and has 1 more gun it's killer in Joust style duels but in dog-fights it's disadvantaged.

i cast my vote. i like the eagle more then the saber. + 1 more point to concider. the eagle is small in size so it has less chances of getting hit, but a saber is very big so got more chancer of getting hit, but on the other hand the saber has the middle empty so if u shoot from straight wards there is a chance to miss aswell.

I flyed both of em Saber and Eagle.But my vote goes to Saber.
Nothin specialy to say about it but I like it more then the Eagle.

Sabre, simply because I was bored of the Eagle before I even touched one, and I hate the colour.
Besides- if you manage to snap that top fin off, the thruster goes with it.

Sabre for me, just never liked the look of the eagle.

A purely esthetical choice for me: I vote for the Sabre. I don't like the color of the Eagle, nor do I like the hull plating that looks like it comes straight from a Leopard 4 tank. On that it looks good yes, but not on the Eagle. It's too small for it.

I vote for Eagle, as i am an old school eagle pilot - Althought in the end, it doesnt matter on our opinions.  Its your choice and your style.  Which ship suits you better?  Which do you feel more confident in?  Which ship can you handle better?

It doesnt really matter about the looks or colour, it matters by how the ship flys.  

In the end up, an Eagle could outturn and destroy a Sabre 2x faster than what the Sabre could destroy the Eagle.

But it depends on your flying styles.  Do you like Fast turn rate?  Or do you like strafe?

Eagle is for faster Turn Rate, and Sabre is for faster strafe.

HH made a very good point there. The choice of a ship is indeed about the way a certain ship 'suits' you. The technical advantages/disadvantages are relative; an Anubis can very well cope with an Eagle, which are 2 complete opposites. In the end it all depends on the pilot's flying skills, and they in their turn depend on the way the pilot feels comfortable with his ship.

Its an unmodded server, but it takes to long to get that kind of money from the ground up so i wont be playing.

My Vote go's to Eagle caz i fly eagle....from 1st time i got on Freelancer.And it's beter then Sabre.U can do some good turns with eagle but with sabre ...nopeeeeeeeeee.

My vote goes to Sabre. Great lookoing ship with great fighting capabilities Turning speed is a bit lower than in Eagle, but on other hand firepower is better.
