Agree with Megiddo  - Silence works and for the same reason Strail said - if you sucker punch someone dont expect them to be all nice about it.  Dont try to justify your actions. Let them get it off their chest. They will learn. Just dont get all self righteous and defensive - it only makes your role more difficult.

I stand guilty of verbal when such things happen - not so much now though - I'm still learning....    ;)

I think my main problem with this mod is the amount of F1'ing you get....i logged in on one of my characters in alpha and instantly 3 traders in the area F1 to other traders they have in a different area because they dont wanna pay a tax...this bugs me and normally provokes "nice run..."

See, i think my biggest niggle with players are the ones that kill you then start saying "lol" its just not necassery, i know im quite a good pilot, i've always been able to kill people but there are some awesome pilots that kill most (shonen who i have now fought...is a very good sniper pilot....lol) although he didn't do it there were a few that lol'ed at me because i was new to the mod and didn't get the dynamics at first...

i think to an extent some of the...not new, not old, but in the middle players feel they can push people around less experianced than them, which is a bit bizzare....and ends up with alot of flaming in PVP.

I will admit tho, if im standing still or docking and a player comes in and smacks my side with a full loaded missile boat (by missile boat i mean OMG WALL OF MISSILES per shot) then i wont say GF, i would put a good fight with anyone who faces me in combat.

some of these rules are common sense, others depend on the context of the situation.

As for traders who "F1" out of battle, if they are not in battle it is not F1 out of battle.

as for taxes by pirates, I personally do not feel I should pay unafilliated pirates ( clanless pirates) and I will dock and then switch to a differant character to best avoid said "Taxes"
